mad max II
This year the organisers have opted for a 18 heat qualifying race format, 2 semi finals and a Final, the format this year based around all 9 Elite League teams provides each team four qualifying races, and the highest scoring four teams go forward to the semi finals, with the respective highest points scorers from the semi finals qualifying for the final. The advert in the Star says 20 qualifiers !
Shortcrust
I see that the blurb on the super 7 site advertising this event has now changed to exclude the bit about a wildcard PL pairing taking part. It too also mentions 20 qualifying heats, two semi finals and a final.
Silver Bee
So now a lesser line-up (as per) and less heats for our money? How fun.

Shortcrust
All I can say is that of all of the forecasts I've looked at for tomorrow for this region, they mostly say the same ... Forecast...Saturday: King's Lynn, East of England. A markedly colder day with brisk northerly winds and showers developing, these locally heavy and turning wintry later. Maximum temperature 8 °C. The track was bone dry on Wednesday night, and we haven't had a spot of rain since then, so it all depends on how heavy these showers turn out to be and how localised they are. Personally I think we'll get away with it, but guess it's in the lap of the weather Gods.

Rob B
Can't believe that nobody is fancying Belle Vue for this, I'm not saying we are definatly going to win but think we have a very good chance. Since the competition restarted in 2004 Jason Crump has been in the final every year with different partners, winning with Bjarne Pedersen last year and Simon Stead the year before. Also Charlie Gjedde won it with Leigh Adams the first year.
Star Lady
Personally I think we'll get away with it, but guess it's in the lap of the weather Gods. I'd say it was more in the minds of the riders, far more powerful than the weather Gods
Tamtig
Does anyone know the line up yet? Usually when these big meetings go ahead, half the line up drop out and youre left watching the elite league best reserves.
Trees
I'd say it was more in the minds of the riders, far more powerful than the weather Gods All they have to remember is there will be hundreds of honest, working people on the terraces who have paid their money to watch them race, paid out a decent sum for diesel or petrol to get there, some who have paid to stay overnight after the meeting etc .................... they shouldn't need much more incentive than that eh SL?? If you mean that it will be their decision whether the meeting goes ahead if the weather is a bit dodgy, now that one is up to them .................. superguest
Does anyone know the line up yet? Usually when these big meetings go ahead, half the line up drop out and youre left watching the elite league best reserves. Its looking like... Jason Crump Charlie Gjedde Leigh Adams Troy Batchelor Chris Harris Rory Schlein Edward Kennett Lee Richardsson Jonas Davidsson Adam Shields Fredrik Lindgren Niels K Iversen Hans Andersen Kenneth Bjerre Chris Louis Steve Johnson Bjarne Pedersen Davey Watt Edited! Unforunately, AJ and Scott Nicholls are injured. Hampel must be busy elsewhere. Other than that, I think we have the top 2 from each team. ajh
Just to let any potential travellers know that it was bone dry throughout the night and though it's quite windy and cold this morning it's still dry. I will try and post another weather update this afternoon. Edited April 5, 2008 by ajh
