Silver Bee
Nicholls should be banned. It's that simple. They set the precident with riders last year being banned for missing this event. Zorro was banned for riding in a PLAY-OFF meeting, yet Nicholls can seemingly walk all over events like this without a care in the world? Absolute joke. Seb the Snail
They only become pointless in the first place because people like him pull out of them. Nicholls should be banned. It's that simple. They set the precident with riders last year being banned for missing this event. Zorro was banned for riding in a PLAY-OFF meeting, yet Nicholls can seemingly piss all over events like this without a care in the world? Absolute joke. Fully agree with both of these comments. Events like this and the ELRC only see their credibility diminished when the key riders treat them with such disdain. The forecast is a little ropey apparently, and today has been the first decent day in about 10 in Blunsdon, but I'm sure that the track staff will do all in their power to get it on. Swindon, Poole, Coventry and Belle Vue look to have it between them IMHO, with Messrs Crump and Gjedde likely to give bananas & co a happy journey back up the M6. Sandie
Seeing it's a sunday i guess your be at work (double time ) so i doubt it will corncern you cheeky mare!!! Some of us have proper jobs you know!!! Actually we are returning from Norfolk on Sunday so it depends on what time we get home, the weather and if we could be bothered. The only good thing is that it is just up the road and we have our rain off tickets. So may see you there - if you have your phone charged up this time!!! And thanks Seb - at least someone is sensible in Swindon
rabbit
Very disappointing, but not altogether unsurprising, that riders are already pulling out. Do agree with the comments on Nicholls though; as a British rider, he more than most should be seen to be endorsing one of the domestic season's prestige meetings (which, despite the lack of respect it's given, this still is). Shame on the BSPA (seem to be saying that a lot recently) that they seem to be condoning this - hell why not tell all the riders not to bother at this rate! Seb the Snail
cheeky mare! Some of us have proper jobs you know!!! The provision of noodles to the good folk of Swindon is one of life's essential services! And thanks Seb - at least someone is sensible in Swindon And I wouldn't go that far either! Sunday's forecast on the BBC site is for "light showers, 19 degrees C".
Zetters
Jonas Davidsson ask for a withdraw because we had a rearranged match on sunday on plan......but BSPA or Jon Cook told Him that He will be banned for 28 days in GB if He withdrawn on sunday........ Thats what the others "TOP"-guy should be too.............FOR SURE...........

Why is it a prestige meeting ? what is the top price two speedway bikes again Hardly any riders what to ride in these type of meetings anymore and as soon as this and the elrc are put out to grass the better they have past there sell by date . Steve Shovlar
Nicholls, AJ etc should be automaically given a 28 day ban if they fail to ride. Simple as that. Their reasons are NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Fans pay good money to come to events like this and want to se the top guys in action.

Adder
cheeky mare!!! Some of us have proper jobs you know!!! If you had a proper job you wouldn't have to work on Bank Holidays and thus expect the whole of the speedway calender and BSkyB's scheduling to revolve around you That said scheduling this meeting the day after a foreign GP is just plain daft. Still if the Super7 girls are going to be there it will be worth the entry fee alone

Still if the Super7 girls are going to be there it will be worth the entry fee alone I know your post is tounge in cheek (I hope) but using that theory there wouldnt be speedway on a Bank Holiday to worry about. The emergency services wouldnt be able to offer cover The stadium staff would want the day off and taking it one step further - the riders wouldnt be 'working' either And SKY wouldnt be working either!!!!! But we live in a 24 / 7 society and why cant the BSPA and SKY revolve around me!! I want my speedway!! And by the way - this meeting - I can attend if I plan my social activites better!! Its the Cov v Ippo Im cross about. Weather is something we have to accept - messing around with times for SKY tv now thats another matter!!!! Steve Turner
Personally I hate this novelty event, as you can probably tell. I foolishly went to the Pairs at King's Lynn the other year and realised just how bad it is. Reminds me of Telford ! However, disregarding that bias... Not one single rider is contractually obliged to race in this meeting, therefore nobody should even be threatened with a ban ! This is a re-arranged fixture, not on any pre-season agreed list. Zetters, I suspect that Jon Cook is lying to Jonas Davidsson in order to force him to ride. But IF Jonas agreed to ride in the Pairs BEFORE being asked to ride in Sweden, then he should ride in the Pairs. If anyone ends up with a ban then I hope they take legal action. I'm personally sick of seeing the BSPA ignoring their own rules to suit the occasion.
