Guest chris26
can honestly say as a witches fan that I am dreading reading the post match report on this..... soon as SKY can't be arsed to show it  with the greatest of respect to Chris Louis and Johnno, I fear an embarassing showing from Ippo

speedy17
seems strange to me that first of all miskowiak pulls out then hampel cant replace him and neither can swiderski who has been in fine form so far, looks like that poland tomorrow is bigger attraction for them than the elite league pairs. any how im going for : Â 1.Peterborough 2.Belle Vue 3.Swindon 4.Pool 5.Coventry 6.Wolves 7.Ipswich 8.Eastbourne 9.Lakeside
HAR
This thread is called "best" pairs. But i think the meeting is just called elite pairs, cant call it "best" when ipswich are sending thier 3rd and 6th best riders <on current form>. I doubt the organisers of this are very happy, as one of the local clubs that could boost the crowd, are sending such a crap pair. Talking last night, i couldn't find many witches fans <who usually travel> prepared to fork out £20 for this. Ipswich are unable to send Robert Miskowiak as all Polish riders have commitments back home this evening. That is why we, Ipswich, are sending Louis and Johnston.  I feel this competition is far too early in the season, it is the 2008 Elite League Best Pairs, but the qualification for being the top two riders from each team is based on their final averages for 2007 (or assessed average for this year). This competition should be held next month when the GSA's are out so that the top performing pairs take part. With Ipswich, our 'Best Pair' for tonight are way below par and had we been able to make a choice, and the riders were available, we would probably have send Jarek Hampel and Piotr Swiderski, now that would have made things interesting and exciting!  As it stands, I am not going to travel to King Lynn tonight to watch our riders make a mockery of the competition. This is a guaranteed wooden spoon for the Witches, shameful to say the least.
M08
One of the disadvantages of having a balanced team
BeesFan
To be fair this meeting is a tin pot cup, with very little intrest to me or alot of fans or even some riders. I dont know why??? In the 70's,80's 90's these type of meetings were very popular and riders wanted to win. I used to go to the BLRC many times and the riders competed like it was the world final. The likes of Olsen,Collins,Carter,Mauger,Briggs. but sadly those days are long gone.

rabbit
Typical of the BSPA to hold this on the eve of the start of the Polish season and then wonder why some of the Poles aren't there  As for a winner tonight, I'm gonna show faith in Barney and Watty and go for our boys. Bring it back to Poole lads.

Jim Sharman
It was being strongly suggested at Coventry last night that Chris Louis' place in the "Elite" League pairs is to be taken by Tobi Kroner. . .

Would it not be better to have Chris Louis and Tobi Kroner? They were a great pairing last year for the Witches and know how to ride with each other. Tobi is not afraid to get stuck in and have a go.
