Pollyanna
Sunday 27th actually. It's a long weekend here (Australia Day weekend) and that's why it's on the Sunday. Start time is usually sometime after 8pm local time after the sun goes down, trying to put an exact time on it is a bit futile. I'm just hoping I don't get hit with a near full can of drink again !! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks, Sir Lunchalot! I like the casual way you do things out there. Have a great weekend and I hope the next time you get a can of drink thrown at you, it will be an empty one!! Better still, a full can placed in your hand. whowasthatberntpersson
Tonights meeting promises to be a cracker, quite often in the past the Under 21 Championship has overshadowed the Senior Title. Its hard to look past Chris Holder but I don't think its a certainty by any means. We've also got the 350cc Under 16 Championship this year, which should be another brilliant meeting. I think I'll have to organise my holidays a little better next year.
Guest Sir Lunchalot
Hey Lunchy, if you get to Mildura in time for the councils Australia Day breakfast you will see someone getting awarded the highest accolade imaginable. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Didn't quite make Mildura for that Oz. At the time that the breakfast would have been on was about the time I was in the middle of an argument with an immigration official over a minor matter whether they would let me back into the country after I visted Japan for work and neglected (that's a fancy word for being blissfully ignorant) to renew my re-entry visa that had expired two weeks ago. They did eventually let me back in but I'll give you the tip, don't try anything similar because the paperwork and the lecture that goes with it is a killer. I even contemplated trying to bribe my way out of it with chocolates and duty free. So who was it that got the Royal Order Of The Uncooked Crustacean this year then ? Ozyace
In my best Jimmy Barnes voice "Got the keys to the City BaayBeee" Awesome for Mildura to regonise him for this i think. I can only remember one other motorcyclist being awarded the keys before and that was Wayne Gardner for Woolongong. I've known for about a week know, but sworn i couldn't let it slip. I think it's sensational, he had to put of his riding school back a couple of hours to make the breakfast presantation. You can read it all in the General Discussion Board' Edited January 26, 2008 by Ozyace

crazysue
Have had a text from Lunchy asking if we want updates, have sent one back saying might as well as I have woken up now but so far no reply. If I get anything, I will post here that they are coming in and then post the results on Speedway Updates. Edit Took the plunge and rang Lunchy, results will be shown on Updates but the meeting start is still approx 45 minutes away as they have not had the presentation of riders or national anthem yet. Link to the thread is http://speedwayupdates.proboards103.com/in...read=1201425537 Results are now coming in.... rabbit
Nice one Chris. Good result for Proctor - be interested to see how he does over here this year. Definitely one for the future. Aussies are racking up the quality youngsters at a rate of knots. Good to see for the future of antipodean speedway after a slightly dodgy phase. ajh
Hugh Skidmore - Got to be the best name in speedway. Very apt Could anyone who watched the meeting comment on Kozza's two exclusions? When I saw him in the UK he looked very fast but very raw. Does he need to calm down a bit or was it track conditions? Certainly think he will be entertaining in the UK this season but as I commented on the updates thread, think he will wind up a few opposition fans as he gets amongst their favourites Also congrats to Chris Holder and bad luck to Troy. Think he's destined never to win the U21 title. Edited January 27, 2008 by ajh

I do believe Kozza had a slice or two of bad luck, besides that Mildura is as far from Kings Lynn as you are ever likely to get, in distance, and track shape. Kozza is an all or nothing type of rider and Kings Lynn will suit him down to the ground. Mildura takes some mastering, quite a few in that field have local track experience.
