Rico
For anyone staying in Poznan after the Leszno GP, this may be of interest to you. It may be possible that we could run a bus in conjunction with our Polish friends, running from Poznan centre to Bydgoszcz for their league match with Daugavpils on 11th May, then returning to Poznan after the meeting. Whilst it is do-able on the train a bus just gives a little more flexibility to the trip. The distance is 80 miles and is estimated to take 2 to 2.25 hours each way. Just interested in rough numbers at the moment to see if it's feasible. Please feel free to add your name and how many are in your group below. Lincs Speedway
Rico, We are staying in Wroclaw, How far is it from Wroclaw to Bydgoscz? I have looked on a map and looks like Rybnik is nearest to Wroclaw and believe they are at home on the Sunday
Rico
Definitely quicker to get to Rybnik from Wroclaw. 2.5 / 3 hours on the train. Bydgoszcz a good 5 hours. Rico
Lincs Speedway
Definitely quicker to get to Rybnik from Wroclaw. 2.5 / 3 hours on the train. Bydgoszcz a good 5 hours. Rico <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We was thinking of hiring a minibus there are twelve of us and we did this two years ago. I have put into Autoroute Wroclaw to Rybnik and this comes up 270 miles and going down into Czech Republic before entering back into Poland, is this the shortest way as a direct route across looks only 80 miles but dont know if that is mountain area and not possible , please advise? Mateusz
270 miles !? That's definitely not the shortest way From Wroclaw to Rybnik it's 170 km - about 90 miles. It's a normal road (as for Polish standards, of course ) through the Silesia region. It's an industrial area but not mountain. Rico
The RAC routeplanner shows it to be slightly further at 120ish miles on the fastest route (110 going the shortest way). Route link Rico

Paragon
Having been to Rybnik from Wroclaw the route that Rico gave is the best as most of it is on the A4 motorway , so you have less chance of crazy Polish drivers hitting you head on over the wrong side of double white lines, which is what happend to me in Poznan last year. Rico
It looks that way Ped, I think I'd rather get a train than a wee minibus I think and as no-one else has shown an interest I think that's what we'll end up doing. If anything changes I'll obviously let you know. Rico
pugwash
Wroclaw to Bydgoszcz is a bitch of a drive. Really slow going for 3/4 hours. Wroclaw to Rybnik is a piece of cake. Rico's route is spot on. Straight down the new motorway to Gliwice and turn right for Rybnik, 2 hours easy drive. Scenery on route is pretty reasonable but Gliwice is Polands equivalent of Bolton so don't hang around there, Rybnik is only 40 minutes down the road.
