Subedei
Are those speedway capacities or general capacities? A number of lower tier seats are not available when speedway is running at the likes of Cardiff.
Mama
The same with Bydgoszcz stadium. There are some changes at stands (e.g. individual numbered seats) and now the capacity is about 17500. For GP rounds it's also decreasing for about 13500-14000 (official number of sold tickets)

Sir Jasper
Malilla, Sweden 10,640 Prague, Czech Rep 9,800 Krsko, Slovenia 8,000 Daugavpils, Latvia 7,000 Eskilstuna, Sweden 6,500 Lonigo, Italy 4,300 So going on attendances, you have to wonder why Sweden is still getting 2 gp's and is it worth going to Lonigo? What are the title of the round I would imagine that one of the Swedish counts as the Scandinavian GP? if So surely that should move around? for instance it could go to Vojens etc. Especially while we have a Danish World champ. Im sure some people would say the same with regards to the European GP but the crowds are continually good in Poland. You could argue that oing on attendances there should be another in the UK but I cant think of an existing speedway stadium that is big enough. manchesterpaul
We tend to judge sporting attendances by comparing them to the high levels of football in this country. However, it's important to bear in mind that in other european countries even football gets what we are accustomed to be poor figures. One might think the attendances at the Slovenian GP and the Latvian GP as signifying 'low interest' in the event. However, they compare very favourably with their national football teams when they are playing games in a competitive tournament (European Championship Qualifying). The Slovenian GP attracted 8,000 and the national football team averaged 5,100. Their biggest blockbuster games versus Holland got 9,500. The next big match against Romania drew 7,000. The rest of the games averaged out at a mere 3,840. The Latvian GP got 7,000 - a lot of people probably didn't think Latvia had that many inhabitants . Their football team in a group with some very attractive matches averaged out 7,812. Edited January 20, 2008 by manchesterpaul

manchesterpaul
So what about Lonigo? Plus the worry i would think at Daugavpils is that the attendance dropped after a fairly good start. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There is no pont at all in making comparisons with football in certain countries. Obviously nothing can come close to matching crowds in Italy, Germany and England etc. Regarding Lonigo there is a glaring question to answer. Namely, why have the attendances plummeted from year to year at that track?. If i remember rightly, some of the previous GP's have had some excellent racing there. I wonder if it is once again a case of stupidly expensive ticket pricing in the local economy?. I've no figures to check on that.

Pollyanna
Do you know if these figures are for purchased tickets, or for the whole attendances, including freebies for riders' partners/ wives/ families/ friends, etc?

And with the F.I.M that means a few hundred at most GP's.

Humphrey Appleby
i think freebies are not included since usually official attendence means the amount of paid entrances or? The figures are likely to be largely made-up anyway, as they're suspiciously rounded in most cases.
