Scunny Stag
I apologise for not posting on this board earlier. For anyone who hasn't seen the Training tracks/Amateur board there is a 'Youth 500' class at Scunthorpe's Amateur meeting on 26th January (1-5pm). Basically there will be an 8-rider, 12-heat class that will see each rider race six times and against each of the others either 2 or 3 times. To secure a place in the meeting a cheque for £35 (made payable to Scunthorpe Raceway Ltd) should be sent to myself at the following address: Richard Hollingsworth 2 Newland Drive Scunthorpe North Lincolnshire DN15 7HP The proposed heat format is: heat 1 8 5 1 4 heat 2 3 6 7 2 heat 3 4 5 6 3 heat 4 8 7 2 1 heat 5 2 8 4 6 heat 6 7 1 5 3 heat 7 3 4 8 7 heat 8 2 1 5 6 heat 9 7 4 2 5 heat 10 6 3 1 8 heat 11 5 6 7 8 heat 12 1 2 3 4 I would envisage putting similarly riders of a similar ability together at 1&2, 3&4, 5&6 and 7&8 as much as possible to ensure these riders do face each other three times in their six races. If there is enough interest I will run a 250cc youth class at the second meeting (1st March) rather than a 500cc one. If popular we will look to run regularly through the summer, perhaps in a 'championship' format. It would also be interesting to know whether a 125cc class would also work. Any thoughts? All riders must be licenced to ride a 500. More details of the meeting can be found in the 'Training Tracks/Amateur' section or by contacting me at richardh1967@ntlworld.com or by calling 07832-402167 (preferably after 4pm Mon - Fri). Scunny Stag
It looks like we now have six places taken, leaving two up for grabs for the meeting on 26th Jan. If anyone would like a space then please give me a call on 07832-402167 and I'll reserve one for a couple of days whilst the cheque comes. Scunny Stag
We now have the 7th rider for Y500 racing on 26th Jan. Anyone fancy taking the last slot? All seven riders booked in have taken part in the British Under-15 championship and it would be great if we had an eighth rider to give us 12 races with 4 riders in each rather than six going with three riders. The second meeting has also been brough forward to 16th February. Bookings are being taken for the Y250 class on that day. A third meeting will then take place on 8th March and if there is enough demand we would like to run a three youth classes (Y500, Y250 & Y125) alongside just one senior class. If you are interested in any classes just drop me a line via e-mail or give me a call (details in my signature)
