21st century heathen
As far as I can see there only seems to be one possible slot for Sky to put the GP on. That is Sunday evening when they could ditch some motor sports magazine type show thingy, and something else which looked so boring I can't remember what it was. That would give them 6pm til 9pm free. Other than that the whole weekend is taken up with live football, cricket, rugby, tennis and golf (if memory serves). Doesn't look very promising. If nothing else we're going to find out just how important speedway is to Sky this weekend. So c'mon Sky this is your chance to prove your doubters wrong. frigbo
Anyone know if William Hill are honouring bets laid last Saturday for the restaging or do I have to get a refund and bet again? My online bet has not been refunded and is carried forward, guess the same applies.

I think Sky have two possible options for Saturday night. Firstly they show the GP at 10pm on Sky Sports 1 in place of WWE Smackdown (repeated about 15 times during the week anyway). OR At 8pm on Sky Sports Extra in place of 360 surfboarding (??) and a repeat of some Cricket match from earlier. Surely a GP should garner more viewers than those sports listed above? Especaially as I personally think you will get more people tune in at that time simply because of the time slot and also through sheer curiousity because of what happened the previous week. Anyone who says they are not watching because of last weeks fiasco is kidding themselves. Pete
21st century heathen
I can't see them losing the mutli-million dollar sport that is WWE these days. I looked at SSX as a possible but I have a feeling the cricket will get the nod, even though it's a repeat. Like I said, we'll see how big speedway is in the eyes of Sky Sports. salty
Regarding the ruling on bets being carried forward, Ladbrokes rules on this eventuality were that bets would stand for the restaging of the event, but could be voided by request prior to that restaging. (seem to remember that happening when the Grand National was re-run one year.)

I'd bet a tenner that there hasn't been one British meeting called off because of the reason BSI have given for this postponement! Please give an example of an insignificant reason why a British fixture has been rearranged to back up your case. Not that I think laying a crap trap is insignificant but by your posting you are implying that the British promotors rearrange meetings at a whim. They have to take numerous factors into account when arranging matches too! Well what about the infamous Oxford 'sun off'? What about the Eastbourne v King's Lynn fiasco when the visitors refused to ride after a guest was ruled out because his average was 0.001 too high? What about the Arena Essex v Peterborough BLC match and the earlier Stoke v Belle Vue BLC match called off because the home promotion didn't like the look of the visiting team? What about the Peterborough v Rye House(?) BLC match that was called off because one of the home teams' Conference League riders was injured appearing for Somerset. I could go on! Trevor
Does anyone know the e-mail address of Sky Sports? As I can only find the address to their web site. I think a few e-mails from us could help the cause. I still think they could use Sky Sports News channel.

Tina
Had a reply to my e-mail too. Dear Chris Thank you for your e-mail about the Scandinavian Speedway Grand Prix. I can confirm that Sky Sports will screen delayed coverage of this event at 10.30pm on 30 August 2003 on Sky Sports Extra. Thank you for your interest in Sky. Kind regards Keith Dixon Viewer Relations Was surprised to get a reply as it seems that many people from various forums have tried before and never got a reply. Perhaps if enough of us do so then they will sit up and take notice in future
