iris123
He only made the first bend of the first heat f-s-p!. Had a good chat with Smoli, who was the star of the show imo.And it is really a show rather than a race meeting.Which some tend to forget.I know there were words spoken to a few of the riders to calm down a bit.Still feel the speedway is a bit flat compared to the freestyle show. And i know a friend of mine was disappointed that the autograph break didn't feature any of the speedway riders, but did have the freestylers and go-kart drivers! iris123
Despite sending me a pm last week saying the Wolfslake Bundesliga meeting was 90% sure to be on the 24th May, it is now planned for the 12.04 Edited January 31, 2008 by iris123
iris123
New German manager,René Schäfer is holding a training camp for around 18 riders this weekend in Neuenknick. He is taking the Danish training camps as inspiration and wants to make them a regular event on the calendar. It is particularly important this year as the German U19 team go straight into the new European Team Championship at Güstrow on the 22nd of March. So that will be the first meeting of the season for lots if not all the riders. He wants to take a look at the riders and get them into shape. Also the people at speedevent will be opening a new track on the outskirts of Berlin in Biesenthal. The place is celebrating it's 750 year anniversary and a floodlight international speedway meeting(27.06) will take place at an old football stadium. It seems the townsfolk are hoping this will just be the first of many meetings at the stadium.Seems the track will be 260m.Could be a good new adventure, although the promoters do have something of a repuatation for opening new venues that only last a few years then disappear. There is no rule in Germany about opening tracks near each other, but as tracks don't operate each week it shouldn't affect nearby Wolfslake, maybe the opposite News article Edited February 15, 2008 by iris123
iris123
Well after this weekends training René Schäfer has nominated the team for Güstrow in the U19s Kevin Wölbert Max Dilger Frank Facher Erik Pudel Sönke Petersen That should be strong enough to give Denmark a scare Taken from the Bundesliga site Edited February 17, 2008 by iris123
iris123
Line-up for the opening Bundesliga meeting in Neuenknick -www.sc-neuenknick.de SC Neuenknick 1 Kevin Wölbert 2 Adam Skornicki (PL) 3 Dominik Möller 4 Rafal Okoniewski (PL) U21 Tobias Busch U19 Max Dilger MSC Brokstedt 5 Mathias Kröger 6 Joonas Kylmäkorpi (FIN) 7 Nicolai Klindt (DK) 8 Tobias Kroner U21 Sönke Petersen U19 Ramon Stanek MSC Olching 9 Martin Smolinski 10 Manuel Hauzinger (AUT) 11 Frank Facher 12 Hans Jörg Müller U21 Manfred Betz U19 Sebastian Kapser MSC Diedenbergen 13 Peter Karlsson (SWE) 14 Grzegorz Walasek (PL) 15 Ronny Weis 16 Thomas Stange U21 Dennis Wienke U19 René Deddens A good looking line-up with reigning champs Olching looking the weakest side.Diedenbergen have two top riders in Walasek and PK.Great to see him back in the Bundesliga after a few years break.Just a question of how much back-up those two will get.Stange can be very good, but is injury prone and young René Deddens is also a good prospect. But home side Neuenknick have a very strong line-up with the exceprtion of Möller.Dilger is likeyl to be unbeaten in the U19s and German U21 champ Tobi Busch will only be troubled by Sönke Petersen as far as i can see in the U21s.Brokstedt look very solid and should be challenging for the win.Be interesting to see how Tobi Kroner and Smoli fare against the top foreigners. And also if Adam Skornicki can continue his good early form My prediction: 1.Neuenknick 2.Brokstedt 3.Diedenbergen 4.Olching Edit:Meeting cancelled due to weather Edited March 18, 2008 by iris123

This is the meeting I was supposed to attend last year, instead found myself in the Botanical garden of Bremen. Beer was nice there also so no regrets. Especially since the meeting dragged with poor track and injuries. Whats the story regarding the German league, can you add foreign riders to the team all season? Hehe Of course i saw Joonas on the list. And would love him to go through unbeaten.Just not convinced his form in Germany is as good as Walasek and Karlsson or Smoli. But fingers crossed for a Brokstedt win Yes they will just add riders as they go along. If one of the others isn't available they will sign someone else for a meeting or two.Like i mentioned before it might be that we see Lindbäck here this year
rabbit
Does anyone know if Sunday's first round from the Bundesliga is still on? I spoke to Adam Skornicki earlier who seemed to think it was postponed, but I didn't get chance to ask why. Any help much appreciated.
