Not a lot happening as far as i can tell.A few signings been made

The rider who surprised a lot of people in the Polish Final last year,Jeleniewski has signed for Diedenbergen.Plus it has been announced that Manuel hauzinger has signed for Olching. But one of the agents here and the guy who worked with Manuel at Wolfslake announced Manuel has signed for Pfaffenhofen. So who do we believe?I know there was a bit of this happening last year. With Wolfslake announcing they had signed Pawel Hlib and then Teterow doing the same.

Big rumour is that Stralsund will not participate in the Bundesliga, but they haven't updated their web-site for about a month since announcing it was "no end of chaos in the Bundesliga" so we await confirmation of that  If they don't participate Matze Schultz is expected to be back at Diedenbergen

Just heard that the Kiel meeting will be ridden on concrete... auts

GO TERO!

Yes.Didn't you read my interview with Martin Smolinski? :(

Last year there were a number of injuries.Matten Kröger being the worst. He was out for about 4 months.I met him at a petrol station on my way to Denmark in about May and he was still hobbling fairly badly.Tobi Kroner also broke a couple of toes and a couple of other riders had to have treatment. That is why i asked Smoli about the meeting and if he knew what the surface would be.I am fairly sure(although it was a long way back now) that one of the riders told me during the proper season that they were totally unprepared for that surface and didn't have tyres to suit it!

Polish rider Marcin Nowaczyk has signed for Pfaffenhofen.Looked pretty good last year in Germany.Had a couple of good meetings for Neuenknick and went well at Moorwinkelsdamm.Seemed to struggle in Poland riding for Poznan though.Maybe the Bundesliga is more his level or maybe a move back to Rawicz will help

Talk also that Matze Schultz will move to Wolfslake.Back to the team he won the Bundesliga with back in 2004 when they were the joint Parchim/Wolfslake team

The deadline has passed and so we still have 7 teams in the Bundesliga

Brokstedt

Diedenbergen

Landshut

Neuenknick

Olching(2007 champions)

Pfaffenhofen

Wolfslake(newcomers)

Güstrow have dropped out. Most probably because they have a couple of international meetings. The new European U19 Team semi final, plus a quali round for the U21 individual World title. What with the redevelopment of the track they have done over the past couple of years they probably don't have the money to enter a team.

Ex-rider Georg Hack obviously not happy with the change of rula allowing two foreign riders in each team.He says his team(Landshut)can't afford 2,and will have to use German riders to try and keep up with the other teams.

Pocking will not run a meeting for the second year

Following on from the problems caused by a neighbour complaining about the noise from the track that caused the cancellation of the traditional Easter meeting last year.Pocking have had to cancel plans to hold a meeting this year also.

The local council want to build workshops for a Adult education centre by the track. The building is planned to be 60m long and 11m high. The old workshops have been demolished and the cntract to build the new workshops has been handed out to a contracter. This building would act as a noise barrier,so there would hopefully be no grounds for complaint from the neighbour.

Trouble is,she has put in a complaint against the building of the workshops. The protest has been turned down, but she has appealed against the decision. As it is election year the sitting council will wait until the new council is in place and the appeal has been heard. The elections are in March, but the new council won't take office until 1st of May.Too late for Pocking even though the predicted new local government have given them permission to go ahead with their meeting. This would still mean them paying out for a noise barrier of some sort that was found to be too costly last year :( Let's hope this story has a happy ending and next year Pocking are back

Apparently, further to the news about the Wolfslake squad Pawel Hlib will apparently be riding as a German this season. Here at least. As he has acquired a German pass.So that significantly bolsters the Wolfslake team,as they can use Pawel + two foreigners.Added benefit is that Hlib is then assesed as a 4pt rider instead of 10.And they also have the other 3 Polish riders(Sekula,Schmidt and Kasperek) riding with German passports!!!!!

Pawel "I do what I want, when I want" Hlib! (use Cartman voice for the extraname...)

He's a legend

EDIT: And according to my polish skills he's on factory sponsored JRM's next season.

Can anyone let us know how Tommy Stange is getting on and if they know what his plans are for 2008. As you may well know that Trevor Harding suffered injury in Australia and may miss the UK season. Would he make a decent replacement at King's Lynn? Would he be interested?

When he last rode at King's Lynn he looked pretty good and I would like to put some pressure on the promotion to get him in.

This is the latest i have seen on Tommy.

T.Stange works on comeback

Must say i am not the best one to comment on Tommy as i haven't seen him that much over the past few years. He doesn't seem to ride much up here. But the atricle says he is working up to 8 hours a day in a fitness studio to get fit for the new season. His dream is to be a GP rider. So i would guess he would jump at the chance to ride in Britain again.he always said before that is what he wanted. He does seem to be prone to injury though

Need a good second German rider really compared to the other teams named. But Deddens looked pretty good last year when i saw him.Plus plenty of potential with Walasek and one of the others.
