sjw ministerofport
Bydgoszcz probabaly is the best for racing, the flights are easy, Stansted to Bydgoszcz, you need to be quick to get a hotel place but there are a good few options. The stadium is in easy walking distance from the city centre. Krsko is good for both the GP and a short break, a wonderful Country with beautiful scenery, it's best to hire a car. We fly to Ljublajna drive to Hotel Terme spa resort, the track is about five miles away. Again the flights are from Stansted. Hope that helps. Bradford Ace
Must say that i'm totally looking forward to my 1st ever visit this yr to Bydgoszcz in Sept. Been to Poland once in 1992 to see Havvy do the business in Wroclaw but think that the racing at Bydgoszcz is usually the best out of all the GP's. Even though i've only ever seen this one on tv, i'd defo recommend it this yr as the day after it there is the GP qualifier at Zielona Gora which is only about 4 hrs from Bydgoszcz so ya get 2 quality meetings in Poland all in one weekend. Been on a atag do in Poland as well & itts a very lively place to go these days so you'd be mad to miss this trip!! If ya fancy it, there's already a thread on here as a coach is being run from the GP meeting to the qualifier on the sunday and there's already a lot of interest in it so dont hang around!! BigFatDave
If you can wait 'til 2009 I'd recommend the Australian GP! (Fingers Crossed, IMG willing) Thinking the same as you eric i,............ lonigo italy anybody any thoughts??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nearest decent accommodation is a fair way away, but its a great racetrack. Rob B
No doubt the easiest to get to for flights, transport and amount of hotels available is Prague. Cheap flights from all airports no need for car just use underground and trams, loads of hotels and apartments.
Mama
Without any doubts I can propose you to visit Bydgoszcz GP! 1. The best track for speedway racing 2. Great atmosphere at the stadium and in the city during GP weekend 3. Quite good transportation 4. Good located city 5. Quite good accomodation 6. GP Challenge in Zielona Góra at Sunday Ad. 1. I think there is no doubts Even Speedway Star wrote a lot of good things about Bydgoszcz track ... Some of this forum members call Bydgoszcz "Mecca of Speedway"! Ad. 2. There are a lot of foreign fans each year and of course huge number of Polish enthusiastic fans. The "big GP party" starts on Friday ad finishes on Sunday - almost like Brazilian carnival Ad. 3. Flights from London Stansted (RyanAir - each day), Liverpool (RyanAir - Wednesdays and Sundays), Dublin (RyanAir - Wednesdays and Saturdays - just for GP ), Copenhagen (JetAir - Mondays and Fridays), Dusseldorf Weeze (RyanAir - Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays), Berlin Tempelhof (JetAir - Thursdays), Warszawa (LOT - each day without Saturdays) and Katowice (JetAir - Tuesdays and Wednesdays). There is city bus from airport to city centre (about 12 minutes) and Polonia stadium (about 17 minutes) - the ticket for adults costs 2,20 złotych. Regular buses from London and another European cities. Everyday train from Berlin. Regular trains from big Polish cities (Poznań, Gdańsk, Łódź, Szczecin, Warszawa, Wrocław, Katowice, Kraków), also regular buses from some of these cities. Ad. 4. Bydgoszcz is really good situated if you want to spend more time in Poland and visit another cities - just 45 km from Toruń, 75 km from Grudziądz, 80 km from Gniezno (first Polish capital), 90 km from Piła, 130 km from Poznań, 175 km from Gdańsk, 190 km from Ostrów, 205 km from Łódź, 260 km from Warszawa and 270 km from Wrocław. There are also some another places worth seeing close to Bydgoszcz. Ad. 5. If you make reservation earlier, you can choose hotels of really good standart and of course some cheaper. But you should do it earlier, because closer to GP time there could be some problems with accomodation in high-class hotels. Polonia stadium is situated few minutes of walk from city centre and also from most of good class hotels. Ad. 6. The day after Bydgoszcz GP 2008 there will be Grand Prix Challenge in Zielona Góra - city situated about 265 km from Bydgoszcz. The only problem is public transportation between these cities but for sure there will be organised some special tours. Ghostwalker
I Can recommend Gothenburg. A Fantastic city. Gothenburg has allot to offer no matter if it comes to accommodation, restaurants, cafés or things to see or do. Getting around in the city is easy thanks to trams and buses. Read more at: http://wikitravel.org/en/Gothenburg http://www.goteborg.com/default.aspx?id=528 IMO Gothenburg is one of Europe's finest cities. The Racing is probably not as good as on the permanent tracks. There are direct flights to Gbg-landvetter with City Airline from Birmingham & Manchester and from London with SAS and there are airport coaches taking passengers to/from the airport. Ryanair also have flights to Gbg-City AIrport (Säve) from Stansted, Luton or Gatwick. for a full lists of destinations to/from Gbg-landvetter see http://www.lfv.se/templates/LFV_InfoSida_Bred____34329.aspx säve: http://www.goteborgairport.se/ Edited December 28, 2007 by Ghostwalker

Boggle
Gothenburg sounds good ghostwalker as i said on above post was looking to go to lonigo but nobody is commenting on that! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lonigo is fairly easy to do, although it is one of two you need to hire a car for (Malilla being the other one) the racing was average last year (but better than what was served up in Prague and Gelsenkirchen!) Flew to Verona last year (with BA), although you can fly to Verona-Brescia with Ryanair but that airport is slightly further out. Verona is a good place to spend a couple of days and it tied in nicely with Verona v Juve last year although the game was rubbish! Its about 40 min drive from Verona to Lonigo. Found a good hotel in Verona last year which was just on the outskirts but a easy enough to get to the centre and free parking too.

spanner47
Another easy one is copenhagen. There's a train station in the airport, this takes you to the main station, just book hotel near the station and when you get there pop into tourist info, get a map and it's a pleasant 40 min walk to stadium. No need for buses, trams or taxis, it couldn't be easier. But if you want to make a long weekend of it and sample the delights of the area, then prague and lonigo are as good as any, as boggle says, stay in verona <lovely city> and also give yourself a spare day to got to venice. spanner47
The Racing is probably not as good as on the permanent tracks. According to the svemo kalender, kaparna are due to have raced on the track 3 times before the g.p. So lets hope this will help the track settle and they'll be some decent racing. But then again we must take into account the "ole factor".
