Shame that the Wimbledon did not sign Scott as he rode Plough Lane like his home track. I still remember his 58.2 secs track record in 1978 when he was entering the 3rd bend before the other riders in the race were still riding bend 2.

Great rider Scott  he was a terrific rider,  plough Lane suited him he  conquered the County ground which maybe pushed him forward quicker as a rider .How many Americans could conquer the County ground he for me was up there with Ivan there ( maybe better what a compliment) .Ivan , Scott, Phil  Crump( Snr) , Leigh Adams , Bob Kilby, Martin Ashby,  were terrific at the County ground.

How dare you omit Nigel Boocock from that list!

Well it seems nobody is sure if Nosher ever turned up to watch the Dons. But there must be a long list of celebs who did.....

Just read that Jimmy Pursey was working at the stadium in the 70’s when he formed the punk band Sham 69 with a few others it seems who were also working there

I recall Peter Murray-is he still around?

Last I heard he was still going strong. He turns up to occasional functions, I believe?
