Brian Hamilton
What about Geoff Mudge, is he still around?
BobC
Geoff made a surprise visit to Poole in 2006.All that ginger hair has receded, but easily recognisable. Looked astonished when I approached him to sign a couple of photos, one action and one portrait.Went on to say that seconds later in the action photo,he ended up in the safety fence at Plymouth. It was either Denis Day or Cliff Cox that did the dirty deed!! Amazing thing was,I got them from Ebay, and they arrived that day.I only took them along to show my mates. In my opinion,he is still the Greatest ever Poole Skipper. Great idea for their Northern Tour.

salty
Do enjoy these threads about these riders from the late 60's and early 70's and finding out how they are nowadays. The only problem is when I see their name on the latest post I do have those few seconds of worry in case the reason there is a thread about them is to impart sad news. Of the last 2 veterans mentioned I remember Geoff Mudge when he was in the Poole title winning team of 69, didn't realise he continued riding in the UK for so long. My main memory of Norman Strachan was the beautiful, careful way he wrote his signature compared to the normal scribble.

BOBBATH
Ok but what about Dennis day mentioned earlier in this thread-was a buddy of Len Silver's at Exeter I thnik, then I think he rode for Hackney in 64-Hackney had a good team that year and almost won PL-lets think, Pratt,Trigg and L.McGillivray were the heat leaders then I think,Poyser,Brian Davies, and was it Dennis Day or Sandy McGillivray?
