If all you ever think about is money, I'm surprised you didn't just hitch a lift and climb over the stadium fence to get in!

If it was just about a few quid then no problem. Lets take the german g.p. for example. Last year i drove and total cost of weekend <transport, hotel and best tickets in the stadium> came to £85 each. Those who flew told me they paid £120 if they stayed one night, or £140-£150 for 2 nights. Looking at tpt prices, when you add on expensive seat you'll pay £600 per couple extra. All you get for that is one more night in hotel and a nice coach to take you around. Some people on here say travelling with tpt cuts out the hassle, very true, but how much hassle are you expecting for £600 per couple? You go online and book flight, then book hotel <try and get one near a station makes live easier>, then all you have to do is get from flughafen-bahnhof-hotel-stadion. If one of these is a problem then get a cab, even if you end up paying £100 in cab fares, you'll still be £500 better off per couple. No twominutewarning, i dont only think about money, but lets face it, what would you rather pay?

P.S. Nice to see the tpt brochure has got the dates right this year.

I think you would probably have to lend him a ladder!!

Poor old Spanner appears to be one of these people who likes to tell people how to do things, and then derides them if they choose to do things their own way.

It is very disappointing that he didn't take the opportunity to apologise to other Forum members for his insulting remarks, and can only assume that the money he saved over the years, hasn't been spent on a book of good manners!!!

Despite an invitation to provide our trip to Slany for £2 per head, as per our specification, we are still waiting to hear. As they say talk is cheap, which in Spanner's case probably makes him very happy!!!

Anyway back to more pleasant issues. I am currently in Oz with the TP Group, and for those that may be interested, photos of our Sydney City Tour & Harbour Cruise may be found here:

The link works fine but I cannot seem to get the pictures,

I just wanted to make sure my fellow falcons fans were not having too much fun ;)  :P

By going to the link the thumbnails should load, and then click on the thumbnail to enlarge the image.

I hope this helps.

£200? Don't think its ever cost us more then £150 to do a foreign GP, nowadays we do them for around £100!

I see the advantage of the likes of Travel Plus for the single person etc wanting to go abroad but I still think they rip off to make a profit.

Years ago Peter Ballinger use to organise trips to Slovenia and Norway and sorted out all the transport with coaches & hotels and charged less then half the price of Travel Plus.

So maybe Mr Snackette could tell us how much travel plus expect to make per passenger. Whilst i'm sure we all understand overheads etc, the differential does seem extreme. Since the advent of low cost airlines and the internet where everything can be sorted quite easily, one must question the sanity of anyone who wants to give a travel agent that much money, when in reality in can obviously be done for a third of the price.

Having just returned from watching the fireworks in Sydney Harbour, may I be the first to wish everyone a very Happy New Year.

I look forward to greeting TP clients old and new in 2008, and may those who wish travel independently do so and enjoy it also.

While I have never used TP, and probably never will, I don't see that their profit margin is anything to do with you or anyone else other than those connected with the company.

As long as there are people willing to pay for their trips, TP can charge whatever they like.

All booked up for Lezno! flight, 4 night stay in Wroclaw and main grandstand ticket £310.00. Cheap at half the price

We got flights, GP tickets and three nights in Poznan for about £260.00.

Not knocking anyone that travels TP tours, each to their own. At the end of the day we all go for the same reason great racing and I reckon Leszno is gonna be a bit special. So to all going, no matter how you're getting there have fun and stay safe. :)

Spot on Diesel! :approve:

The Bloke/Sheila/Thing's obviously never heard of Commercial -in-Confidence. If He/She/It? wants to find out Profit Margins maybe he should set up his own company and try for himself.

Meanwhile, Downunder in Adelaide, where yesterday was a balmy 43C, a certain local interpreter is lurking in the shadows......(to be continued)

( SSTC DOWNUNDA continued)....the touring party has hit Adelaide, no-one's been bitten by a snake yet.

Just as a ferrinstance of the service you get from TPT: some members of the group alas had to cut their trip short due to illness back home: instead of being able to party on with the crew in Sydderney, Brian & Alan worked their collective Butts and phoning fingers off to ensure that all their flights and bookings were re-organised with the minimum of effort on their behalf and (despite earlier threats and forebodings) at no extra cost.

Lets hope everything's OK for them back in the UK.

Whiile we're on the subject, the Oztourists will find out  one of the added bonuses of travelling with TPT when they hit Newcastle tomorrow, as fixture promotor Graeme Boyd has a little surprise for them! :o

Oh My God!!!! He's not got you to agree to streak around the track has he BFD???:blink:
