Prague Gp

Recommended Posts

Here Here Noaksey, we witnessed it for ourselves last time we went to the Prague GP. When the thieves had realised we had clocked what they were up to they were off the train at the next stop and ran like hell. I know you said tram but people, just be warned it happens on the packed trains as well.

it does, I worked in Prague for a couple of years and it is rife. There is nothing to alarm anyone but you do need to be very careful on public transport

Apart from the gp is there much else to do in prague.

Loads. And there always a bar near by if you need a cheap drink :D

Even things like going up to the castle are interesting (just don't be talked into walking, get the tram ;)) Can also suggest the Petrin Tower, give a great view of Prague. I also get excited going on the Metro (underground) too

You could spend days (and 1000's of Koruna) in the shops too! My plan this year is to take the clothes I'm wearing and an empty suitcase and buy clothes over there :D

There's enough there to keep you entertained/amused for 5+ days.

Does anyone ever drive to Prague? we may well be going but I won't be able to book a flight till much nearer the date.

In 06 i seen Julian Parr in a bar (not the atlas bar) and he got there by car. Well it was a van actually and i think he said it took him just shy of 24hrs.

I've been there, once by mistake, honestly.

Same here

Prague is a beautiful city with loads to do and see. One of the best weekends I spent last year was over there for the Grand Prix even though I got soaked and the Grand Prix meeting was crap.

First thing to do is get a daily etc. ticket for the transport system wherever you can (e.g. at the subway stations). Don't think you can just wait for a tram and get on expecting to pay the driver. You can't! If you don't have a ticket you take a big risk getting on because if an inspector happens to get on and asks you to produce a valid ticket you can be hit with a hefty fine if you haven't get one.

If you're in two minds whether to go and haven't been before - go! You won't regret it. By the way I can recommend the Diplomat Hotel right next door to the subway and with buses and trams running by outside. Nicky Pedersen and Thomas Gollob were among the riders staying there last year.

Have driven there several times, and its about 900 miles from King's Lynn to Prague, and takes about 16 - 17 hours driving time ( in a van), plus the ferry / shuttle. If you are used to driving it is dooable in one hit as the roads are pretty good on the whole once you get on the continent.

That's the problem with budget airlines, you need to get your tickets ASAP as the price increases as time passes.
BMI Baby from Birmingham have not gone up since the day they were released if you're flying Thursday to Monday and they're already as high as BMI generally go, so theres nothing to be lost by waiting. Edited by SCB

Our fault for flying SleazyJet from Stanstead..........lol....

We've a good deal on the Hotel though...., city centre, 75 metres from Metro, TV, Shower & WC, breakfast, nearby shops..................£18 per person per night! We've stayed there before so we know what the standard is!...........good to excellent!
