I belive all are welcome, even us scandinavians!

Seems that I didnt miss anything by going out yesterday and seeing the result until now. Mäkinen really needs to get his act together.

I do wonder if going to the PL so early is doing your boys any good f-s-p  Speaking to Jari before the meeting he seems a bit low in confidence. And just look at Klaus Jakobsen as well.He should be up there challenging for one of the quali spots.Jari was on the pace and Niko wasn't bad,but Kalle after his PL experience should be doing better as well. But look at Dennis Andersson. He surprised me.I saw him alongside Kalle in the YGT 2 years ago and he did look good. But i didn't expect him to do as well as he did.

Wasn't a very good meeting imo.Maybe Jacky saw it different. Not sure what heppend with Sundström and Hougaard.Looked to me like Linus was a bit too reckless after Patrick passed him(and there wasn't much passing going on after the first turn)and rode straight into him.Probably just came into the bend too fast and had nowhere to go.Patrick was pretty comfortable all evening. And home rider Kildemand was also impressive.Really was a gaters track.Jari said it was slick in training.Simon Nielsen(who was also in the YGT2 years back with Kalle and Dennis)was a big surprise for me as well.He was a rider i tipped for the future, but i thought he hadn't made that much progress of late.Didn't look good for Holsted the other week. But to finish above Jakobsen,Juul Larsen and Nørgaard,as well as beating Eklöf twice.....the boy done good

Was a pity Gunnestad wasn't there.Solberg was well outclassed. Not sure how much experience he has,but looked a bit of a novice

Heat 6 was about the best heat(i can remember).A very close race between Eklöf,Nilsson and Nørgaard.Apart from heat 5 which was cut short by Sundtsröm's kamikaze act :lol:

But like i said before. No doubt if the meeting was in Sweden the result would have looked a lot different(apart from Hougaard finishing top).

@Doug

yes you`ve found the right words for Sundström at heat 5, he was riding like a kamikazee. I was so glad if Patrick was absolute okay after the crash, Erik and Jan motivate him to concentrate for the re-run and he makes once again a perfect start.

In my opinion it was not a bad competition, but I`ve missed some passing, as Doug already says it was a competition coming out from the gates. Only 336 spectators at Fjelsted

For me there was no surprise at the qualified rider, before the competition I`ve spoken to Doug and told him 3 danish and 2 swedish rider will be on the Top 5  I was a little bit disappointed of Patrick Nørgaard, because he has had some fantastic competitions the last few weeks in Denmark, yesterday only 5 points. He was the only rider who missed the practise.....

Yes,i thought Patrick was about to run over to Sundström when he got up off the track, but then had second thoughts. And like you said, just concentrated on doing his job.I'm sure it helped the Danes to have the experience of Stekkers and Erik Gundersen in the pits with them. And i think Danish Webmaster might have been giving a little bit of help as well

All right, here is more news on Glumsoe Cup 2008 on 15th June 2008: Henrik Moeller, Leon Madsen and Jesper Kristiansen has announced their participation. Both Nicolai Klint and Simon Nielsen most likely want to participate, but it will depend on other schedules in GB and Poland.

I'll be back

Peter K

Sorry to tell you, that the meeting has been cancelled, because only six drivers has announced their participation.

But we will be back. Have a nice meeting in Copenhagn tomorrow.

Are there any magazines in Danmark that cover speedway??

I can't answer with any real authority as i have never looked. But there is no specifically speedway related mag such as the Speedway Star nor even Speedwaysanomat. All i can say is that all the Danish photographers at the Danish GP seemed to be working for the DMU's magazine,MotorBladet. This isn't just speedway, but MotorX and other motorcycle sports in Denmark.I have never seen it on sale at a meeting

MotorBladet

Maybe one of the Danish guys or girls knows of something else. But Denmark isn't really like Britain. The scene is quite small really. Not a lot of souvenirs. The programmes are basic(scorecard and adverts.......lots of adverts! ).And you just have to look at the websites. Not a lot of info to be found from most clubs.Holsted being the exception and the Danish Speedway League site is also super

MotorBladet is the only magazine where you can find 4 or 5 pages of speedway every month, but you can`t buy MotorBladet at any competition.

Sorry Doug, but you`re a little bit on the wrong way with your answer that all danish photographer seemed to be working for MotorBladet. I think only 3 or 4 photographer who working for MotorBladet have been at Parken, 2 or 3 of them coming from Denmark and 1 is coming from Germany

All other danish photographer working for local or national newspapers like ExktraBladet, BT, Jyllands-Posten etc..

I'm just going by the list i saw when they looked for my name.Just happened that my name was on the same list as the MotorBladet guys, and there seemed quite a few  I#d guess they were the regular speedway guys and those blokes with the bloody big lenses were from the papers

Thanks Jacqueline, Speedway Star got it wrong, then!

Means it clashes with Golden Helmet at Pardubice?

iris123 - thanks mate, I'll owe you a drink! (but hopefully not at Danish prices ...)
