Big Meeting At Poole

Recommended Posts

Talked about the passion of the Polish fans and the fact he can' go out in his home town to the pub because he will either get mobbed ( if they win) or lynched (if they lose!)

At least that's one good thing british speedway has over Poland, the riders can do what they like without any worries about getting "mobbed" or "lynched"!!!

Sounds like it was a good "do" something good to remember eh ..............

Perhaps too many people Trees. Half that amount would have been better, but demand for tickets was so high. They virtually sold out without going on general sale, and the room, although large, was packed.

Perhaps the venue wasn't right. Needed a bigger hall with a stage so people at the back could get a better view of what was going on down the front.

Rumour has it there are people queuing at the stadium already!

The early birds will be the ones who have forked out for a seat, as most of us know, if you're not in the front 2 rows viewing is awful in that dilapidated old shack. I tried to get a good view for the elrc the other year, but the locals had got there really early and reserved all the decents seats for thier friends, it was like the germans with the sunbeds scenario. But i hope the weather stays fine for all those going, and the meeting lives up to expectations.

Are you daring to suggest in a public forum that Wimborne Rd, is anything other than on a par with Wembley Stadium? How very dare you.

I was under the impression it was Poole's very own Hanging Gardens of Babylon & very near the 8th Wonder of the world

Wrong. If you are in the grandstand you are sitting in the section, row and seat number it says on your ticket.

That comment could have quite possibly put anyone who was planning to drive down this morning off attending the meeting had it been made by anyone other than Shovlar!

Hope weather holds off and those who are attending have a great afternoon.

Personally I'm sat here at home looking more & more forward to the start of the MotoGP season, and I'm guessing there'll be more dust/dirt on the track in Qatar and definately more passing than they'll be at Wimbourne Rd this afternoon.

Same here, and to think Toseland is on last years bike and still got on the front row, think he might have a problem with the long straights though with less grunt than the others.

i here that there was only 3000 there today and no full signs were placed up.

congratulatinos to nicki

some fans were missing as they may have fancied travelling down today from the north but as they would have only got there at around 2pm along with me and another 10 fans were probably worried about there being no tickets left and a wasted journey (mainly due to the scaremongering done by some poole fans)i.e fans at stadium before 10am.
