Big Meeting At Poole

Recommended Posts

Why can't we all be excited that the new season is finally here and that Poole have managed to start the season with a huge meeting and a pretty good line-up, with riders from most the EL tracks and a spattering of riders that we will only see racing over here in the GP and possibly SWC round this year?

So what if there are those of us praising up Poole for managing to pull this meeting together, and there are those that are complaining about the prices of the tickets, the booking fees etc (I have to admit that I was less than impressed by the additional charges impossed, but that did not stop me purchasing a ticket for this event) In less than 47 hours the engines will rev up on the 2008 season at Poole to celebrate their 60th year in the sport that we all love so dearly!

We should all be grateful that we have come through the close season and ready to face a new year, new challenges and meet up with old friends and new alike!

Let the tapes rise and the racing begin.......................

So...with this is mind, I'm posting some directions for alternate car-parking of which there is plenty in the immediate vicinity - a 5 min walk or so. If coming into Poole from the north, drive past the stadium on your right and head past the big Barclays building to the George roundabout. There are about 3 or 4 large car-parks sign-posted here and being a Sunday they will be quieter. There's a map from the Streetmap site here here

Good idea Rabbit, I usually use the large multi storey on my trips to Poole.

Being a Sunday, they should be quieter, but also free.

But - I really couldnt be bothered to come down and give you more ammunition to say - The stadium was full and no other club has had numbers like it.

That's a shame Sandie. Especially as I've just taken a call to tell me that Hampel has pulled out with a knee injury he's aggravated in practice and Rory is in his place...;)

Believe what you like Steve - but its true. Im fed already of your Poole is the most wonderful thing since sliced bread.

Its only the likes of Rabbit and PP that restore my faith.

I wish the club well for the meeting and hope those attending enjoy - but in my opinion, you are doing more harm than good for Poole speeway at this present moment.

Sorry to the good guys out there.

The same from me also Sandie, well meaning Pirate fans are ok by me, but the likes of Shovvy who only answer when you criticise & when you don't he can't be bothered are a pain in the a**e.

Rabbit you are an absolute gem & put his type to shame. Good luck with Sunday, hope it stays fine for ALL speedway fans.Steve should remember that it's costing those who travel a distance far more than locals & respect it.

Why should I respect that? I travel all over supporting Poole and don't want resepct for putting diesel in my car!

Zzzzzzzzzzz!!! And Coventry fans didn't gloat and windup in 2007!

Well I am not going to join the politically correct lets all be pals act. Sport is competitive and fans support their club. If you don't like me bigging up my club, stick me on the "ignore user" button. Easy really. Doubt either of you will.

Last forecast at 7pm said Sunday is a dry day, so no stopping it now.

Hampel out, Schein in unfortunately. Shame that Hampel has injured himself but rather have seen Lindgren as his replacement.

Irony after irony from you isn't it?

Won't be long before Matt and Mike realise the damage you're doing to their business.

And if you don't like me saying that......tough......add me to your ignored list.........oh, I forgot, I'm on that anyway.

I'm sure someone will pass it on to you anyway.

Shame about no Hampel. He still in my eyes has made the fastest gate, I had ever seen down at Poole before and his gating could of made him a dark horse. Also Hancock disappearing is a surprise. Any reason why they aren't showing SS?

Shame about the replacement choice but I suppose we needed someone to make up the numbers. Why didn't Skornicki get some extra practice and get selected?

Yep - all a bit rushed Rabbit - got a call early evening. He was planning on coming into the bar but had to dash. Funny really - apparently Chris has been preparing his bikes for the last week for this meeting. Rory has 24 hours. Oh well, nice to see he is taking part, Im sure he will hold his own. Just remember which way round the 'i' and 'e' go wont you Rabs.

Enjoy, the forcast is improving every few hours so that should no longer of concern at all.

well i'm glad rory is the replacement if that turns out to be the case. he can be pretty good at poole easpecially when he gates. it is a shame that a couple of riders have dropped out.

Lisa - it is confirmed. Rabbits word is more than good enough and when it come to Roo, I can add the little extra!!
