colincooke
Didn't see any dust coming up. Track did dry out but was watered regularly. No billowing clouds of the stuff. Yeah but you we're probably wearing those dark glasses :wink:It never said billowing dust did it, just dusty enough for those standing to get covered in it.Just relaying the info you understand. Rob B
. I think he said he was not happy about being frozen out of the UK in 2008, but it was hard to hear where I was sitting. Crowd gave him a very good ovation. No boos. In fact probably the best reception he has ever had at Poole. Â Annoying each time I hear him say this, he hasn't been frozen out, he froze himself out for the amount of money he was asking for this year. Guest Schumi
QUOTE (Rob B @ Mar 9 2008, 08:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Annoying each time I hear him say this, he hasn't been frozen out, he froze himself out for the amount of money he was asking for this year. So if you think you know all the facts, perhaps you could tell us exactly how much he was asking for.

SCB
Well, a lot higher up the points scorers than Harris, for a start. And Harris was crap, in fact, thats being nice to him, he was totally out classed. However, Harris was crap within the rules.  SCB...you say cheats never prosper, and ask where was Bjarne? Why dont you ask the same about Crump? He was the villian of the moment. He touched the tapes and got penalised 15 metres. In the rerun,he VERY CLEARLY moved long before Bjarne touched the tapes, and he was penalised 15 metres.Crump should have been kicked out for cheating, not moved back to 25 metres.Bjarne was moving,I know that, but he only touched the tapes because of Crump moving a second time. That bizarre moment spoilt a very enjoyable meeting. That was the referee, not the rider.  In Bjarne second heat he switched bickes AFTER the heat had been started. You cannot switch bikes for a re-run. He should have been excluded for that. So no shame he then got caught up in the mess that was heat 18(?) and then got picked off by Crumpy, because as I said earlier, cheats never prosper.  Crump should have gone from heat 18 (how can rider start 15 back in an individual, it messes up the gate positions!!!) and then Bjarne would not have bene held up the second time, but I'll not be sheding any tears for the cheating Dane. pedropete
Didn't see any dust coming up. Track did dry out but was watered regularly. No billowing clouds of the stuff.  Steve  I was on first bend and got covered in dust, but so what its all part of speedway. Track was a bit dry though. Bagpuss
Can't believe anyone can be critical of any rider on the first day of the season! Riders ease themselves back in at difference rates any some will probably have done very few laps since October. The best way to assess a rider properly is to look at their average at the end of the season. Â Glad it all went well today and that the weather stayed fine. But for the distance would definitley have gone along to see such a great field. Looking forward to seeing many of them in the ELRC.
BobC
Got you. The ref never released the tapes and Bjarne touched them. Good call - 15 metre penalty. Crap. Â If there were tapes at the 15 metre mark, where Crump was,he would have broken them long before Bjarne moved. Â Get it now?
stevebrum
How many times do I have to say it?   say it as many times as you like. i know i will  Just for SteveBrum, and I'll post it as many times as I have to:  thanks, i know your repetitive BUT thanks for personally letting me know

Subedei
Schumi is right, not surprisingly. And stevebrum is wrong, again, not surprisingly.
Subedei
Crap. If there were tapes at the 15 metre mark, where Crump was,he would have broken them long before Bjarne moved.  Get it now?  All this really highlights is that it's a nonsense to have a 15 metre handicap without having a set of tapes at the 15 metre mark. Just kick riders who touch the tapes out of the race and stop having this 15 metre nonsense, or get a set of tapes at the 15 metre mark.
Steve Shovlar
Whoops SCB, you got that wrong. Â So is he still a cheating Dane. or an ever slowing through the meeting Dane?
Guest Schumi
say it as many times as you like. i know i will But you're wrong. How can you and RobB claim to know Nicki Pedersen better than he does himself, and why can you not try and give a reasoned debate to prove your point (as I have) if you truly believe you're right, instead of resorting to insults? thanks, i know your repetitive BUT thanks for personally letting me know That's the first I was aware of being repetitive. rabbit
Much as I'd have loved Bjarne to win it, in some way it does give a meeting more credibility when there are no home riders in a final. Still not convinced that Frankie made the right decision in that tape touching race, but then i ain't a referee. I thought if Crumpy got moved back the 2nd time for touching (the imaginary tapes) again, he should've been out? Or am I wrong?
