Paragon
Here's what we did this year Megabus to London £16 Return, Eurolines to Nuremburg £80, Hire car for 4 days £100 from Nuremburg, 2 nights in apartment @ terme catez £100, 1 night in Etap in Inglostadt £28, £60 worth of petrol & a few road tolls. It cost about £500 alltogether for 2 of us & we got to see the U21 world team cup in Abensberg on the Sunday.
pugwash
Im looking into going to the Slovenian GP next year. Has anyone been and could you give me any tips on how to get there. Thank you <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Neen to Krsko several times and I can recommend Slovenia big time. Flights from Stansted to Ljubljana (Easyjet), Stansted to Maribor (Ryanair) and Luton to Zagreb, just over the border in Croatia (Wizzair). Car hire or train to Krsko. Have stayed in Ljubljana and Maribor and can throughly recommend both cities but not done the Zagreb link so dont know about it. A lot of fans stay at the Terme Catez complex and I'm sure that somone can fill you in with the details of it, but for me stay in Ljubljana or Maribor and see the country, it's beautifull. I prefer to drive down thro' Bavaria and Austria, mega scenic. Don't stay in Krsko, very basic accomodation and a bit of a dead end place. Hope that you give it a go. Rob B
We normally always fly Stansted to Ljubljana but last year we flew Stansted to Trieste (Italy) as it was dirt cheap and just drove over the border, stayed in Ljubljana and drove to Krsko. Roads are good now in Slovenia.
fatface
Heartily recommended by me too. I went in 2005, flew Stansted to Ljubljana with EasyJet (Thu-Sun). A lot of the riders were also on the flight out, which was cool. Though Ljubljana was a lovely city, some great architecture and a lively nightlife too. Also, IMO home to the world's most beautiful women! Getting to and from Krsko wasn't the easiest. We got the train there (which was a very scenic trip) and because the trains finished before the meeting finished, got a taxi back. Which cost us about 100 euros (between 3) with a driver we had pre-arranged to meet us from Ljubljana. The stadium itself was no Wembley, but reasonable enough. Also a decent track. It's a place I would definitely go back to.
Rob B
Easyjet flights to Ljubljana went on sale at the weekend, initially were £63 which was a bargain, now they are £84 which is still not bad.
kraftwerk
You have a flight with EasyJet to Ljubljana, or with WizzAir to Zagreb and Ryanair to Maribor, but i think this flight will be closed before the GP. for distance from airports to Krsko, tickets, etc... check out the official web site of club AMD Krsko http://speedwaykrsko.si to stay over in Slovenia you have a very nice hotel 12km from track, where most of the riders are staying during the GP http://terme-catez.si/en or if you want a bit more nightlife scene, you must go to Ljubljana where we have according to Lonely planet the hippest hostel (Hostel Celica - HIPPEST HOSTEL #1 by Lonely planet, 2006) http://www.hostelcelica.si/en anything else ... just ask Edited January 29, 2008 by kraftwerk
