tanya
I notice that Tom Hedleys brother rode in the Victorian State Titles, any news on how Tom is? He had quite a nasty injury up at Sheffield towards the end of the season, along with the shoulder injury he was already carrying.

Guest Sir Lunchalot
Just a quick post now I'm home again. The latest on Dakota North is that he suffered a broken collarbone. Hard to describe, he kind of got pitched sideways off the bike and he got to feel first hand how hard the fence was. In a way it was lucky (if you can call it that) he seemed to give the fence a decent whack and it could have easily been worse. The heat between Cory / Cam was a beauty. Cam on the inside of Cory and they were side by side with only a foot or two between them for much of the first lap. Really stirring stuff. Those two were easily the stand outs of the meeting. The visiting Sweetman & Masters were both in the mix and although not quite up with the top two were sneaky quick. Masters was the surprise packet, for someone just turned 16 he's meant to be just finding his feet in the seniors but he rode like he knew he belonged there. Proctor had a shocker, blew a motor on the line in his first ride and went about three feet, then later on had mechanical problems with his second bike. I could understand why he lost a bit of interest in his final ride. I was looking forward to seeing Sam Dore ride a full meeting to see how much he has improved in the past season at Stoke but he had "one of those days", fell in his first ride and was on the wrong end of some contact that helped him off in his second ride. I must say Sam seems to have had more bad luck than most in the time I've been watching him. Finally thanks for the thanks both here and on the updates forum. If I get to meetings that aren't otherwise covered and where I am just a spectator I'm happy to text. Realistically that won't be many, maybe the SA state titles if I go, maybe the Oz U21's if I go. We will have to see what happens !!
Ozyace
Firstly Congratulations to Cam, secondly well done young Ryan and lastly thanks to Lunchy and the update team. Btw Lunchy how was the crowd?
Guest Sir Lunchalot
Btw Lunchy how was the crowd? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hard to tell at Mildura as you know Ozy because they can hide under the trees and it's hard to get a good idea. I would have guessed it was a little bit down (maybe 5 to 10% down) on the usual Mildura crowd but thats mainly based on how long the queues were for a drink, a feed, and a slash and not based on any real scientific evidence. Not sure how the lack of some of the more experienced Mildura riders (McGowan, Lyons, Lemon) would have had an affect but that might be part of the reason. Plenty there cheering on Cam, Cory and Ryan though.

Guest Sir Lunchalot
Did Cory have his huge female fan club in attendance Lunchy? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I did see a huge female there BFD but I don't think she was Cory's fan club. I didn't spot Cory's mum either so I don't know how many of the family / friends were there cheering Cory on. This texting lark is more time consuming than it looks so I didn't get about much once the proceedings started as I had to try and keep Sue happy. I did commiserate with the leading lady of the Sedgy2 family after the meeting seeing Ryan finished one point out of a place in the final (after she recovered from the shock of having a strange man coming up and saying hi to her) but she also had a phone to her ear finding out how Sedgy3 (Justin) went over at Sidewinders (1st I believe) so I left her to it.
