lucifer sam
Believe or not, it will cost JUST a fiver to watch this meeting tomorrow. Yes, a fiver!! So come along to Oxford - I've seen a couple of these rounds before, and they are well worth watching. All the best Rob
Parsloes 1928 nearly
As has been said, it's a great pity that this championship which had multi-rounds in 2004-06 has been so truncated in 2007; having said that and though, of course ,I hope the best rider wins on Friday, I do hope personally that Brendan is the winner as he has always been destined for this title and would IMHO - at this stage - be the most appropriate successor to Josh & Joe. Let's hope the glitches of this year can be overcome (wasn't it originally said that this year would be a 250cc championship..?? ) and that in 2008 it can return to a proper season-long, several venue series... The lads who are top of the table are there on merit.
rabbit
Jeez chill out Spin King. I know you're rooting for one of the other lads but Parloes did put 'personally' and 'imho' and 'at this stage' - it's his personal opinion, that's all. 'Personally' I also hope Brendan wins tonight too, but most of all good luck to ALL the competitors tonight, let's hope for another cracking meeting, and may the best man (or girl) win! The point I was making is that unfortunately the title this year hasn't really been the truer reflection of the best in this current age range because there's only been two rounds so far and a number of the leading protaganists (including Bren of course who didn't ride at Northside) haven't even competed in both of those. I've no idea why a championship which was so excellently organised in the previous three years has somewhat disappeared off the radar in 2007..: let's hope it can go back to its former glory in '08. And as I said in my original posting, may the best rider win..!!
spin king
Apologies for been a little bit grumpy, but to be honest I am getting a bit faed up of reading about this rider and that rider when young James, who is still only 13 has a very good chance of claiming the title, but does not seem to be getting the recognition for his efforts. rabbit
Apologies for been a little bit grumpy, but to be honest I am getting a bit faed up of reading about this rider and that rider when young James, who is still only 13 has a very good chance of claiming the title, but does not seem to be getting the recognition for his efforts. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Possibly because not that many people knew very much about him! You have to remember that a lot of people posting on here backing other riders are either from that riders club or are sponsors. Hence it seeming that more 'attention' is aimed at them. It's not a slight against anyone else. Anyway, many congratulations to Dan Greenwood - very professional performance and the best rider on the night. For Spin King , very impressed with James Sargeant - fast, smooth and definitely one to watch. Not necessarily the fastest time wise, but fully deserved his second place. As for Brendan, just not his night, he doesn't need me to make excuses for him, he was gutted afterwards and he'll know where things went wrong, but he's had a hell of a debut season imo. An entertaining meeting and well done to all the competitors - felt for poor Shane Hazledean who lost out on countback for the final but I'm sure these guys will bounce back. Do agree with Parsloes that it was a shame more rounds weren't incorporated this year - it did seem a bit of a cobbled together championship - hopefully those in the echelons of power can give it back some prominence again next year.
