spiderweb
Sorry about that thanks for setting me straight. Seems like a rider with a future, I think if we are going to have imports in the Title then youth is the way to go .
AndyP
He'll also be riding at Reading next Monday (October 22) in the Denny Pyeatt Memorial Trophy meeting.

Subedei
He'll also be riding at Reading next Monday (October 22) in the Denny Pyeatt Memorial Trophy meeting. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And at Glasgow in the Ashfield Classic the day before. According to slav (on another board here), he should've been chucked out of a meeting in Wroclaw after the incident when Davey Watt was injured and then didn't he have some "handbags" with Andersen after a clash in the Tomicek Memorial meeting? Which should all make his clash with Desperate Deek "interesting".
Guest Sir Lunchalot
I'm going to go against the grain here and say I don't like the foreign riders they bring out. I'd rather give the 15th and 16th spots to locals. I would imagine the last few spots will be competed for by the likes of Harding, Gathercole, Herne x 2, Kziesak, Proctor, Mark Jones, Sweetman, Davey, Bujega, Kozza Smith, Oliver, Wethers, Grajoncek, Summers, Ezergailis etc (assuming they all want to ride and with apologies to anyone of similar ability I missed) and I'd rather see two more of them in the field than Screen or Sitera. With the dearth of top Aussies riding this year and no qualifying rounds its obvious some of our up-and-comers will miss out. Having Jason Crump here last series certainly put bums on seats as well; might be a slight drop in attendances this time, perhaps, no Big-name imports to keep Chris Holder honest!. Any news on Flyin' Ryan?

I cast my mind back to 2001/02 and think of the last Young Lions tour and how enjoyable that was. I must admit I would enjoy seeing riders like Auty, Bridger, and Betson (making up a few names there !!) gracing some local tracks. Interesting to remember the two teams that I saw (the Oz team had more local content where ever they went) and see what they are doing now. From memory - Australia (Broadford / Undera version) : Travis McGowan, Kevin Doolan, Ashley Jones, Nathan Hedley, Jason Stewart, Cam Woodward and Matt Jones England : Danny Bird, Paul Lee, David Meldrum, Blair Scott, Richie Hawkins, Carl Wilkinson and Lee Smethills. I seem to recall McGowan and Doolan being pretty much unbeatable, and Wilkinson having a super 3rd to 1st ride in one heat at Undera when he replaced Hawkins who had suffered a nasty fall on a shoulder that gave him bother for ages afterwards. Mr Snackette
Whilst I can fully understand the concern about foreign individuals being invited to take part in a national championship, I must say that I was delighted by the news of young Sitera's inclusion. The Travel Plus European Tour 2006 took in meetings at Brezolupy, Slany, and Divisov, and on each occasion Filip was the star of the show. Very much a crowd pleaser, he became a firm favourite with the travelling entourage. Indeed his popularity was reinforced this year, when the TP Group saw him win the Kasper Memorial at Mseno on the eve of the Czech GP. If there are any other non Australians to be invited how about the boy Pavlic? Now a series with him, Sitera, Batchelor and Noddy all doing battle, would certainly go some of the way to compensate for the absence of the super stars. Plans for the TP Tour to Oz are now well advanced, and we will be taking in the series from Round 2 onwards. Naturally we are all eagerly looking forward to meeting up with some old friends, and running through the highlights of the English rugby team’s victory in the quarter final of the World Cup!!! Obviously anyone caught gloating will be severely censured!!! Brian Edited October 17, 2007 by Mr Snackette

Mind you my participation this year must be rated 'doubtful' at this stage for not only are funds diminishing fast (I'm nearly skint!!) PLUS I need to get this gammy foot of mine sorted when I go to hospital tomorrow. Got an idea the surgoen might suggest chopping it off and having a wooden one! I think the same thing has happened in reverse.Didn't Todd come back from injury by riding in Germany and participating in the German Championship?Do we not have a future Aussie international riding in British Championships at the moment? spiderweb
Quote; Great, at this rate I won't bother doing the Oz titles if its half filled with Europeans out here for a summer holiday. End Quote; Totally agree Lunchy. How about we go back to one huge meeting for the Aussie Title with only Aussies in it , run at some sort of showground like Wayville or the Brissy or Sydney Showgrounds . The likes of Crump and Adams would be more likly to commit to it Then run an International series for overseas riders that want a working holiday and up and comers that want the experience! Ah well I know i will see you at Milly . Ps Dont forget to bring a torch!
