tommy
Jari Mäkinen reports in his blog that he's signed for Stal Gorzow. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> On sportowefakty.pl they mention that the 17 year-old is the biggest talent in Finland, can he be the next Laukkanen or better? f-s-p
On sportowefakty.pl they mention that the 17 year-old is the biggest talent in Finland, can he be the next Laukkanen or better? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think he'll do well. He doesnt have the same sort of backing that Laukkanen had in his day, but he's well set-up for the coming season. One thing he has to learn this season is gating. If he does that, I think it will save him a lot of broken bones in the next few years and sets him up nicely as the Finnish rider of the coming decade. EDIT: Could anyone translate some of the comments here for me. Edited January 23, 2008 by f-s-p
jeffster
Polish 2nd Division Team, Kolejarz Opole, have announced that Lubos Tomicek will join them for the 2008 season, and Lubos will in fact travel to Opole today to sign his contract. Lubos' team mates at Ople will include Lee Smethills, Brian Lyngso and Peter Kildemand from Denmark, Friedrich Wallner of Austria, and Robert Flis, Piotr Rembas, and Adam Czechowicz, amongst others. Vicar
There are few new signs, because it's end of Jaunuary. If someone want to ride in polish league in 2008 must sign contract before February. Sometimes these are "warsaw contracts" without informations about money. Riders next can be borrow/lend. So: Mariusz Staszewski and Sławomir Dudek in Zielona Góra; Łukasz Jankowski in Ostrów; Roman Chromik and Henrik Moeller in Rybnik; Josh Auty in Gdańsk; Grzegorz Dzik and Maks Gregoric in Krosno; Sandor Tihanyi in Miskolc; Dawid Stachyra, Krzysztof Szyszka, Janusz Ślączka, Marcin Leś, Rafał Klimek in Rzeszów. iris123
Let's hope Matej Kus is better with Polish geography than he is with German. He was supposed to be at a meeting in Germany last year.He rang the promoter saying he couldn't find the stadium."Where are you?"."I am by a sign saying Landshut 25km"(or something similar)."Oh,you are near Neustadt/Donau in Bavaria. You are supposed to be in Neustadt/Dosse near Berlin!" But thanks to Matej i had a photo published in a Czech magazine about strange phenomenon, due to him being able to talk english well after a crash. When he could hardly speak a word before

I think it was later that same year a story from Sweden? reported from a young girl that hit a tree with a sledge or something on her holidays and started talking. Never had before... Anders
What is happening in Liga 2? On Sportowefakty, neither Lublin or Prague have any riders listed in their squads. Five of the Czech riders have left Prague already so could one assume they won't ride in Liga 2 at all? What about Lublin? I've found an article on Sportowefakty that seems to be about their Liga 2 campaign, but I can't understand a thing. Surely they can't wait until the teams in Ekstraliga and Liga 1 release riders for loan? That certainly would be risky...
Mama
Praga will not start in Polish 2nd League in 2008 for sure - they don't want to pay the caution (from this year foreign clubs have to pay the caution). Lublin finally sent the application for 2nd League - now they're waiting for the PZM response. (those article at sportowefakty.pl is about it) Edited January 31, 2008 by Mama

f-s-p
Kauko Nieminen inked a deal with PSZ Poznan. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh Kauko... Must make a note that if he ever denies his contacts to Poland again, must rough him up a bit more.... EDIT: According to Sportowefakty Kaj Laukkanen with his sidekick Kalle Katajisto have both signed for Lublin in the polish II division. iris123
Are they signing anyone who has a bike or what? What about all the Polish youngsters?Where do they get a chance? Glad to see René Bach signed up though.
Hazzman
I think some of the Polish team's pursuit of signing the next International wonderkid is going to extremes. Although, it's good to see a number of young Brits now get the chance.
