Rory Schlein, WOW!  Now I'm not fan, often said he's a gating tart with no track craft but after todays performance I'll admit I was wrong!  Passing on the outside, the inside, cutting back to pass people and drifting wide to pass them.  Really deserved the win.

'Bout time you woke up, m8! Rooboy's a class act - the future of Oz Speedway is secure in the hands of our latest crop of youngsters. Sadly he's not coming home for Ozchamps 2008 - pity as I was looking forward to him & Chris Holder duelling for the Title - so I'll have to rely on tapes 'til I'm over your way again.

Didn't believe him when he told me Rory had won, not being the only person saying it anymore means I might have to :P

Well done Rory, sounds like you had a cracking meeting.

More gutted I missed Eric Andersson than anyone else in the meeting :(

Highlighted to make sure Silver Bee doesnt miss it on his return from Kings Lynn

Also message to Silver Bee -Mrs Schlein says she is waiting for your call to discuss Rory's performance over the last couple of weeks!

2 weeks don't make a season ;)

In all seriousness fair play to him, 3rd leg of the Craven Shield Final apart he's been on fire lately (but that was largly due to the track no doubt despite my frustration at the time) so take a bow son :approve:

He's had his genuinely frustrating moments during the season but in a way it's a compliment to him that I know he's so much better and I think yesterday proves that he is talented and can pass frequently so some more of it if you're back in a Bees jacket next season please Rory. :D

Pretty good way to end the season, on a much improved (from Friday) track.

Rory deserved the win. He was clearly the best rider on show. He was making all sorts of passes, inside, outside, cut backs. Was fair to Martin in the heat he dropped points. Almost fenced Martin in the first turn, so he waved Martin back through. Once both had settled back into the race he chased after Martin. He passed him after a couple of laps, but Scott and Jason were long gone by then.

Morten is worthy of a special mention as being right up there with Rory as the two most exciting riders on the day. He, too, was making passes all over the track. He came so very close to passing Jason in his first ride. He got level with him but couldn't quite find enough traction on the more slick inside. He made passes in his middle three rides, including two swoops around the outside. He challenged Chris in his last ride but couldn't find a way through. Impressive show by him. One to watch again next season.

Filip was a worthy inclusion. It'll be interesting to see what he does next year. I believe he could come straight into the EL. Unlucky in his first when Scott broke down in front of him, and Filip went around the outside. That allowed the other two through. He was also a little unfortunate to fall having led Jason for three and three quarter laps in his second ride. Jason moved under him on the last bend, and Filip just lost it as he was moved off his line. Had he stayed on Chris would not have caught him. From memory he went on to score a creditable 5.

Troy was worthy of his points haul. I was aware he was scoring solid points, but it was still a surprise that he grabbed a podium position. He just managed to sneak under the radar somehow. Very sensible on the day. Didn't really get involved in anything. He just kept picking up points by riding steady. Good performance.

Well done Troy, second and a good meeting at Brandon. Puts him in good stead for his visits there next year!

I didn't say the meeting was good ( not being there) but Troys performance certainly was.

Exciting times in 2008 down Poole way.

But Steve Troy was scoring 10-13 points at Brandon the back end of last season when he was the Bees number 8, so in a way all of this season he should have been capable of scoring more than he has! Not as though we chnaged the shape of the track  (Although we won't mention the amount of times the track surface itself has changed!)
