Jemma
So what's the consensus, on or off for this one? I'll have to leave by about 11:45ish from here. Was hoping I wouldn't have to have another meeting at Brandon in rain/drizzle - it makes some of the scoreboard-turn regulars really grumpy Edited October 28, 2007 by Jemma

Sandie
On <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed. Remember this is Brandon and apparently we can manipulate anything to work in our favour - including rain offs in the past! So it will be ON!! Taken from the Official Coventry site "The meeting itself will be run on a handicap format, with riders sent back in their second to fifth outings based on where they finished in their previous race. It will run over a 16-rider, 20-heat format - with the top scorer after Heat 20 becoming the first Brandonapolis Champion since Hans Nielsen in 1985. (A modified event, billed as Golden Greats, ran in 1998 and was won by current machine examiner Jim McMillan.)" It has been raining at Coventry but the sun is trying to come out. Track is pretty damp but looks grippy enough. Special guest, Lady Brandon has just been introduced to the riders. Sadly it's Colin Pratt in drag but BJ still tried his luck! Heat winners will go off 20m, runner ups 15m and 3rd off 10m in their next heats. Digidoss is not impressed with the starting marshall, who seems to be having problems understanding the handicap system.
Guest Steve Dixon
Quite amazing, drove down from Manchester in pouring rain ALL the way, got close to Brandon and was still dull but no rain, ended up with the best days sunshine i have known for this time of year, goes to show, always travel, you never know

Steve Shovlar
I didn't say the meeting was good ( not being there) but Troys performance certainly was. Exciting times in 2008 down Poole way.
SCB
Rory Schlein, WOW! Now I'm not fan, often said he's a gating tart with no track craft but after todays performance I'll admit I was wrong! Passing on the outside, the inside, cutting back to pass people and drifting wide to pass them. Really deserved the win. Due to the handicapping system there were plenty of good races and it would take forever to list them all. Both the youngsters at Brandon for the first time were impressive, Troy just got on with the meeting and went pretty much unnoticed, kind of snuck up from nowhere, Morten was working damn hard for his points all night and pulled off a few good passes (not bad for another gating tart)

JamieE
I really enjoyed this meeting, a good one to end the season on, and in plenty of sunshine which hasn't been seen a great deal at the speedway this season! I couldn't believe how much sundstrom came on after about his second ride! he suddenly started to go much wider and looked far more confident, sitera too looked impressive.
