Polrail works fine here. Click on the

EUROPEAN RAILWAY TIMETABLE

Timetable effective

09 December 2007–13 December 2008

When putting your station name in for Poznan and Wroclaw add 'Glowny' and it will give you the result for the main station. Leszno you will just want plain old Leszno.

Finally got round to booking this trip at the weekend and it seems to get cheaper year after year.

Ignoring the fact we've decided on a little optional extra night in an old favourite city, the flights from Gatwick on British Airways and 3 nights in the Ibis hotel in Poznan for £132 really can't be sniffed at.

Mucho thanks to the great website Skyscanner for opening my eyes to a couple of routes I wasn't aware of and it means very nice flight times and no 6am departures.

Not a bad location of this hotel. Within a walking distance to the Old Brewery Centre with two very good clubs, probably the best ones in Poznan, and not too far away from the Old Square. Anyway, the area I know even better than Bydg now so we'll rock! :D

Polish First Division Matches scheduled for the day after Leszno GP

Gdansk v Rawicz

Grudziadz v Ostrow

Rybnik v Poznan

Bydgoszcz v Daugavpils

No Ekstraliga matches are scheduled for Sunday 11th May and Division 2 fixtures don't seem to have been released.

The closest one of those listed above by train is Bydgoszcz at around 3hrs. Hmmm.

Rico :rolleyes:

Assuming the match may start at 16.oo we have the following connections at the moment (PKP timetable might change slightly by that time):

Pzn -> Bdg 12:05 - 14:31 (2 h 26 mins)

Bdg -> Pzn 20:03 - 22:25 (2 h 22 mins)

Not perfect but enough time to have a few beers before/after at least :P

Sounds good to me, how about a Rico tours train party? Blimey Big Josh and Leszno in the same weekend. Awesome. B)

4 of us and possibly rising to 6.

Oh no, I foresee a road-trip 1.5 Poznan to Bydgoszcz.

Will start another thread if we end up going down that road.

Hi Rico.

Hasn't time flown since Bydgoczsz. Me and dad (Trevor) thinking of booking up for Leszno. Might stay in the Ibis with you. Have you booked the trains for Saturday and sunday or do you not need to. Would be nice for us all to travel together to share the hourly vodka shot.

Hi Ped,

Only an hour-ish on the train from Poznan to Leszno, so I think maybe quarter-hourly vodka shots for that one :P

No need to book either train in advance. Plenty of options for getting the train to Leszno but the Sunday trip it's pretty much a one-chance shot at getting to Bydgoszcz on the train (see separate thread re possible bus - looks unlikely).

Rico.

Confused why you say an hour from Wroclaw to Leszno. Thought we were travelling from Poznan.
