Can anyone tell me when the GM upright motors were first used in speedway as I am trying to date a GM for the classic speedway club here in Perth, Aus. To qualify, machines, or engines at least, should be 25 years old!

I had it in mind taht they were either late 81 or early 82, but not sure. The big question is, does it have an external oil feed ?

:o 1983 was the first year the engine was used,im sure dave jessup had a few rides on it but wasnt that sure about it,otto fine tuned the bugger for egon and the rest is history.im sure it was 1983,im no expert but it will depend what type of gm it is eg model type.theres been more models of gm motors than the queens had chip butties
