bigcatdiary
What a load of tosh, 24 heats of absolute dross..... You can put as many bells and whistles as you want - the 100th GP will not go down in the memory books. Roll on 2008. Bezza. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Have to agree, the racing was garbage. If this keeps up it will die, we need to see racing not gate and go
Jay
I wasn't surprised at all KJ.. with my turn of pace off that train it was never in any doubt. However, I'd forgotten about all the beer i'd had during the day so the old legs were a bit heavier than normal The sing song.. we need to find a new venue don't we? 2006 Cardiff, 2007 Gelsenkirchen, 2008... any suggestions? He nearly needed mouth to mouth when he got on the train!!! Good job he didnt as we asked for volunteers and everyone moved to the next carriage!!! sancho
I can just imagine if Hans had been involved, we would never have heard the last of it!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And of course Hans would never do anything like that would he

Subedei
And of course Hans would never do anything like that would he <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd hope most riders would - hardly crime of the century, was it? Did he knock Harris off? I thought so. Should be have been excluded? I thought so. But automatic qualification was hanging in the balance and he had to go for it. He got lucky, such is life. But Harris ought to have learnt an important lesson - the GP season doesn't end with Cardiff.
manchesterpaul
Did the 'Start Girls' enjoy the meeting ?. I guess a picture tells a thousand words. This is hilarious and quite telling. Was 'White' texting the speedway updates forum?. Says it all <{POST_SNAPBACK}> From a promotional point of view, are they not paid to look enthusiastic etc. ? Although, as far as i am concerned, who cares about their attitude when they look like they do.
manchesterpaul
What was the attendance? Any official/unofficial numbers? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Reading reports from German media suggests 25,000. They also mention how quiet the spectators were. Do they not realise they were most likely asleep?. That rumbling they heard was not the engines, it was mass snoring.
Trees
Reading reports from German media suggests 25,000. SKY mentioned 60,000 lol
Hazzman
SKY mentioned 60,000 lol <{POST_SNAPBACK}> when it could be quite clearly seen that there was an empty top tier and a whole section shut......
rickmiller
SKY mentioned 60,000 lol <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Now Ive watched the tape, what Keith Heuwen actually said was that the stadium had a CAPACITY of 60,000. I would guess that there was around the 25,000 there. I heard that the organisers were claiming that only 17000 tickets had been sold upto Friday night
sjw ministerofport
Shame about the track but the social side of the trip was brilliant. Oh and a special thanks, to the polite and courtious German people for making us welcome.
Hackett
In terms of the crap track and racing I cant believe nobody as mentioned the Ole Olsen interview in the Speedway Star last week. The focus of the interview was on how far the sport has come since the first SGP ... how the sport has developed and that now the man made tracks have been developed the next revolution shall be a new track surface .... "If we can make a new surface for speedway, as soon as we do that it will be a big leap. I still believe there's a way to have more consistent and even surface. You wont have the risk of dust and things like that. You wont need to worry about watering. We will be cleaner, able to ride in all weather conditions and we will open up all sorts of new venues where the staiums dont have to worry about cleaning up" "Within the next 5 years , I can see this happening ....... it wont be dirt it will be something different .." You see it is the fans fault why this is being considered all of you out there that has spoken to ole Olsen you are to blame !!!!!! "I like to talk to fans and I ask did you see all the spray from the back wheels and they say no, I didn't notice. They dont look at the spray they look for close racing, riders passing each other, the excitement." "Three things are important in speedway : the noise, the smell and the action - the overtaking, the close racing, riders passing each other. You cant take those things away , you cant take away the olour, the action but YOU CAN TAKE AWAY THE DIRT" Edited October 16, 2007 by Hackett
