Normally we all end up outside in the gap bewteen the pub and WHS.

Trees
There are a few people that have a few rooms booked in hotels quite close to the stadium and will release them nearer the date Ahhhhhhhh that explains why there aren't any rooms available, why the hell don't people just decide on a room and book the one, there's people out there who are desparately trying to find a room and can't because of them ........... ridiculous! Sandie
Like a drink and having a good time. Is that enough? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That will do for us!!! As for the 'bib'. Go to 'My Controls' at the top (or near the top) of the page - right handside. From there you'll get instructions along the left handside. Change Avatar I think - then see if you can do it from there.

I guess that could be where many have gone!!!
crazysue
Actually I have one room (well a suite anyway) booked for me and my son at the Copthorne, and a room at the Holiday Inn for a friend and his girlfriend (he doesn't have a debit card so he is giving me the money direct) . The other room I had booked (an executive room at the Copthorne) was cancelled on the night of the GP announcement. So no spare rooms being held onto here I am afraid. People are finding it difficult to get rooms, while other sit on false bookings. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I may have a booking for a friend but only because he does not possess a debit/credit card of his own (doesn't trust the things). I decided this year to take a leaf out of others books and booked a few rooms at the first whiff of a date and just hoped for the best...luckily the whiff was correct and I cancelled my surplus room at the earliest opportunity (the night of the announcement, actually within 10 minutes of the annoucement). I agree though about others holding rooms, who knows, I may have been able to get a decent room closer to the action and where other BSF members are if there had not been block booking but hey ho that is life and to be honest, I am quite looking forward to being in a posh suite of rooms even if the hotel is on the outskirts of Cardiff and needing a taxi in.....although I can always swap with my friend and he and his partner have the suite and I have his room at the Holiday Inn (Nah, think I will stick to my suite, the luxury and the free drinks, breakfast etc etc)

Trees
From someone who hates the GP's and anything to do with them even to the point was willing to go sit in the Aussie bar and watch the British GP unless someone gave her a ticket because she didn't want to put her money into the BSI/IMG pockets ..... or was I drunk and imagined that conversation I don't want a room Shazzy, just saying what I think For the record I don't hate the GPs, I hate the fact that a private company owns the rights to them which is why I won't support them apart from watching the racing on the box and promising my friend that I will go with her next year cos I was the reason she didn't go this It was meant jokingly not how has been taken by some. It weren't, I meant it, Sue isn't holding onto her rooms, good on her! Edited October 11, 2007 by Trees
Chivs
Can't believe people are getting so shirty over the fact they can't get rooms etc. As far as I'm aware the rooms are now mostly pre-pay................so if people are paying for the rooms then there is no problem IMO. Last year was different - just tell em how many rooms and pay on the day. Nearly changed my name to Travelodge Direct last year

(My daughter wanted one hotel, I wanted another) They were organised for our group of friends in order for us to be where we wanted. I didnt randomly book to annoy other people. In the end I ended up with a couple spare. How was I to know people would divorce or have ilness!! But these were offered here on the forum and taken by forum members! This year I have just what I need in the Lodge. My firends have had to fend for themselves. Its a bit like tickets - If you want to be together - 1 person does the booking.
