shazzybird
Luckily the windows in our hotel don't open so they can't hear any of us when we are sat outside all night, well except Vic White he heard a bit of a noise but we convinced him it was motorway traffic

Best just to note that Cardiff is in Wales - the locals, while being very friendly types, may not take too kindly to being called English
scotty2hotty
Sorry for the blatant plug, but don't forget to visit the Speedway Souvenirs Fayre at the Cardiff Rugby Club right next door to the main entrance of the stadium. Doors open at 10am until 5pm, £1 admission for adults, kids free. There will be numerous traders there including Nick Barber Souvenirs, Pawel from Poland, Martin Dadswell etc. Also we will have the Official Scott Nicholls Merchandise on sale as well as other riders merchandise. Hope to see you there on the day.

markmoran
Stayed at the Castel? and ANOther guest house(by the video shop) in Rumney for the first 3 years at Cardiff On main rd into the city centre-only 10 mins on (frequent) bus-never had a problem getting a taxi back either, despite staying over for a beer or two & food after the GP Staying in Newport again this year at the walkabout-shame it seems there wont be a welsh open to watch the following day(hoping for a positive outcome regarding the wasps future from 2009),but still struggling to find a secure overnight car park near to Newport town centre on a saturday night!?? I got parking for overnight ... about 7 minutes walk from Walkabout. The Victoria Hotel on Corporation Road. You can use this if you like ... We got rooms free as well if anyone is stuck ... and we'll provide transport to the venue and back to Newport again. B & B plus evening meal. We got a bar and restaurant there and a take away pizza place too, lol...... so plenty of beer and plenty of food and transport to/from Cardiff and somewhere to collapse ... sounds too good to be true. Get back to me if anyone is really stuck for a place. Cheers guys
T.N.T.
As stated before, I will travel down early in the morning and park up and head into town. Will drive back in the early hours to get home by 7am and go to bed. I'm looking forward to this years GP as there are Wolves riders actually in the 15 strong field and want to meet a few people on here that I have never met before. I will not be wearing my Wulf Sport Wolves jacket as it doesn't have inside pockets, so I will be wearing my bright orange TNT Jacket .... so say hello if I pass. Ta Hi Davidba, I have booked a coach with National Express for £60.00 return for myself the wife and my 2 lads, leaving @ 8.00 from Victoria on Sat 28th returning Sun 29 @ 10:30 only takes about 3-3 1/2 hrs straight to Cardiff Bus Station. I just checked the website cheapest ticket £29.00 return leaving victoria the same time as myself and returning the same. What do you think? Hi Scarsy63, fare is very reasonable but i dont fancy trawling the streets until 10.30 am, so need a sleeping option, is this gonna be possuble anywhere you think? Thanks for the info, will book the coach if i can sort this bit out, and maybe see you all on there.

Ta There's usually B&Bs available even if the hotels are booked. And don't bother with taxis, just get the train (like a lot of Newport-based fans do). It takes 15 mins, costs about £3 and there are dozens of them. After the GP you just need to get in the 'Newport only' queue outside Cardiff station. When i look on 'thetrainline.com it lists just 2 trains from cardiff to newport, one at 10pm which is too early and one at 11.30pm? Are there lots of local trains that are not listed? Anyone know a Newport b/b i can look up, only finding extortinate hotels when i search for availability? Thanks again

Thanks again They always put extra trains on after a big event at the stadium. I live in Newport and I've never failed to get a train back after the GP. I actually meant that there are lots of services FROM Newport to Cardiff during the daytime, to get you there. You may find some B&Bs if you do a search on yell.com. Failing that, the Wales Tourist Board might be a good starting point. Good luck!
davidba
Just found a space at the Roman Lodge Hotel in cardiff(Or 2.6 miles outside) for that night. Anyone know it, i,presume it would be easy by taxi? davidba
