Fourentee
Not quite right ! Banks's (Wolverhampton) took over the Marston's brand. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not quite right! Wolverhampton and Dudley Breweries, owners of the Banks's brand, took over Marston's but the firm was then renamed after the East Midlands brew. SG, out of interest, where was Casper Wortmann confirmed please?

Fourentee
In danger of going off-topic here, but at a guess the Marston's name is probably better established among a broader spectrum of drinkers. It's also one of those premium brands that carries certain upmarket connotations of quality, tradition and so forth – just a better image, I guess. None of this is to denigrate Banks's (especially the mild, now renamed Original, grrr) – a fine brew but perhaps with more of a regional identity. Anyway, in a desperate attempt to justify the post from a speedway point of view, who wins the Olympique this year? Another PK master class? Personally I think Freddie might be in with a big shout... PS: Oh, and thanks, Superguest. Edited October 8, 2007 by Fourentee
John Leslie
I thought breweries weren't allowed to sponsor Speedway anymore? Didn't the BSPA once force Reading to give up their Castlemaine XXXX sponsorship because of an anti-drink-driving policy in motorsport? Or was that just a myth? T.N.T.
As I stated before and as printed in tonights Wolves programme, next Monday is the BANKS's Olympique........... not Marstons The line up will feature Chris Harris, Scott Nicholls, Tai Woffiden, Jason Lyons, Daniel Nermark and Nicolai Klindt plus debuts for Ludvig Lindgren and Casper Wortman. PK, Billy, Freddie, Will and James will also be in the line up as the last place is Kenneth Hansen who actually made it to Monmore tonight. Col
As I understand it, Adam Shields is booked to race. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought he was injured. Anyway, I'm not sure any racing will occur at Monmore Green tonight, it's drizzling, looks wet enough to have been doing that all night and the sky's are a murky grey - it doesn't look like its going away anytime soon. Col
Final lineup from Wolves website: Tai Woffinden, Billy Hamill, Freddie Lindgren, Chris Kerr, Peter Karlsson, Chris Louis, William Lawson, Daniel Nermark, Scott Nicholls, Jason Lyons, Ludvig Lindgren, Casper Wortmen, Kenneth Hansen, Nicolai Klindt, Adam Skornicki, Chris Harris. Reserves: Joe Haines, Karlis Ezergalis. Certainly an improvement on recent lineups with Nicholls, Harris & Louis.. Be interesting to see how the youngsters go. I reckon there are 4 guys in the lineup who would win it; The two Bees & the two Swedish Wolves. Skornicki replaces Shields.
