Ghostwalker
isnt it only 4 wildcards? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yes 4 WC, 3 Qulaifiers and the top 8th+1 wc for each gp.= 16 riders.
superguest
It really does depend on who makes it into the top 8. If Nicholls doesnt then he will get a W/C, the biggest upset could be what Pole will lose out...I think Rune deserves his place but Hampel has been unlucky with injuries, while Jagus had a massive knock at the first Swedish GP. Then theres KK! AJ will be in, my heart wants Freddie to get seeded but id prefer him to qualify when hes truely ready to make an impact, at the moment hes probably too young. We will see! PUK ...Hard to say dont think he will be amazing but definety better than Zager and Lindback Dryml...I cant see him doing well. He is too erratic. Bjarne...May well get his finger out and perform better but I think he could of done with a year out of it personally. pirateaj
if the likes of nicholls , jonsson , hampel , holta & jagus don`t finish in the top 8 this year do they really deserve to get wild cards for next year all this same or similiar riders keep getting nominted every or so it seems . if this is the trend why not make the top 10 qualify , this could get speedway into another laughing stock ! Subedei
That's the end of Scott Nicholls is he doesn't finish in the top 8! Pressures on him now! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree. If the former British champion doesn't make the top eight, that's him out of the GPs. Zagar qualified by right for this season and surely deserves a second chance. After all, how many chances has the former British champion had?
T.N.T.
That leaves any 1 from Jagus, Holta and Hampel in my book. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Think this may well be the final place up for grabs and they wont want to go without Hampel 2008 01 Nicki Pedersen DK 02 Leigh Adams AUS 03 Hans Andersen DK 04 Jason Crump AUS 05 Tomasz Gollob POL 06 Greg Hancock USA 07 Chris Harris ENG 08 Jarek Hampel POL 09 Neils K Iversen DK 10 Lukas Dryml CZR 11 Bjarne Pedersen DK 12 Andreas Jonsson SWE 13 Scott Nicholls ENG 14 Fredrik Lindgren SWE 15 Jagus or Holta POL OUT = Zagar, Linback and Jagus/Holta However, does anyone get the feeling Greg Hancock may step down at the end of the season ? This would mean 4 Danes, 3 (or 4) Poles, 2 Aussies, 2 Brits, 2 Swedes, 1 Czech and (possibly) 1 American. This would then allow Jagus and Holta to both line up again. superguest
TNT the problem is KK. Do they give it him or Hampel?
Subedei
Why should the former British champion get another nomination if he fails again? How many chances should this serial failure be allowed? Why should Zagar not be allowed a second chance, when the former British champion is has had his third chance and is now being suggested for a fourth chance? I would say Jagus would then lose out as Holta is the Norwexxx POLISH Champion. Remember Hampel missed 2 rounds Edited September 15, 2007 by T.N.T. Why should Zagar not be allowed a second chance, when the former British champion is has had his third chance and is now being suggested for a fourth chance? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Surely Nicholls should have done what Bjarne Pedersen done , i.e. enter the qualifying process to give him another option of being there next year . Or was that beneath him And where is it written that Britain automatically has two places anyway . It seems a mighty big asumption that Nicholls will get a wildcard cause Britain has to have two places .
tone deaf
Not the most inspiring 3 riders to qualify. Bjarne will be anonymous & unexciting as ever & the other 2 aren't good enough. Would have liked to see some new faces. Agree if Nicholls fails to make the top 8 he's now had enough chances but if the powers that be insist on 2 Brits the current 2 are head & shoulders above the rest. I also think that Holta have had his chances both this season and earlier and i hardly think he will be better next year.
JohnPhelan
Whatever the rights and wrongs of including Nicholls, Zagar, Lindback, Holta or anyone else that could be viewed as being undeserving of a 2008 GP place, the final decision on who's in or out will be a commercial one. In all probability, the organising body will decide that, for example, 2 Brits are better box office for the whole series, not just the British GP, than one. posh panther
Dryml and Puk should be scrabbling around 14th and 15th. 3 very dull qualifiers, nobody new breaking into the Gp's. Lindgren should be a shoe-in for a nommo with maybe Kasprzak and 2 of the non top 8 finishers <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I assure you Drml is not dull..obviousely you havnt seen any speedway at the showground..if you want dull check out Ulamek
