Ghostwalker
Västervik leads the 2nd part of their semifinal against Elit Vetlanda with 4points which makes a total lead of 20 points with 3 heats to go. Västervik thereby is in the final against Dackarna. Worth mentioning is that the young talented rider Billy Forsberg managed to beat Jason Crump when Billy and Gollob took 5-1 against Crump and Robin Aspgren in heat 10. marron
Not familiar with the way the Swedish meetings are run: 1. Are the riders in Heats 15 + 16 all nominated by team managers and do they have to be different riders in each one? 2. Also how are the changes decided ie. Crump allowed to replace Jonarsson in Heat 12? 3. Like BL speedway, can the reserves replace anyone as long as everyone's had a minimum amount of rides? Yes heat 15 can be anyone, heat 16 are the top 2 scorers from that meeting. 2. When a team goes 6 points down they can use a T/S. Each rider is allowed one T/S ride. 3. Reserves dont have to have any amount of rides. The junior reserve usually get two rides in the two reserve races, but the number 8 can take both of them. Subedei
And the mighty Gollob leads Vastervik to their third final in as many years. But this time Vastervik will face different opponents in Dackarna Malilla, after dismissing current champions Vetlanda, the team they've faced in the 2005 and 2006 finals. Anders
Sorry for a late answer, haven't spent much time in front of the computer the last three days. My question is could it have been done and they could have raced in fair conditions? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not an expert, but we did have both machines and new shale to put on the track. Would it have been more dangerous than under normal track conditions? Well, yes, that's why the meeting was abandoned by the referee after discussion (sp?) with the team managers. Have I seen meetings been ridden in worse condition? Yes, many times in the GP's (Målilla last year for starters). I talked with the track staff today and they said it would have been really patchy, and they know best I'm sure. Or was it tactics on the highest level by Wirebrand and team? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh, I can't believe those conspiracy teories. The financial losses to cancel a meeting is high, it would be suiside to cancel/postpone a meeting just for the sake of it. (I know you mean it just as a "teaser") Anyway beat Västervik and send them home shattered! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wish. Västervik was the far better team in the semifinals and won comfortably against us, our tail was too long to stand a chance. Can't believe I'm saying this, but GO DACKARNA in the finals! Ghostwalker
And when is the final(s) ? thanx <{POST_SNAPBACK}> have you missed the dates in the first post on the first page? there is all dates and links you'll need! and about reserves. reserves can only be used in 6 heats. The 2007 Swedish Champions will be Västervik i think. Simply because they have Chris harris as a reserve. Personally i dont like that teams can have a top 8 GP rider/ GP winner as a reserve.
