Swedish Playoffs 2007

Recommended Posts

appearently SVEMO screwd up again and decided about new rules for the fianls yesterday, For ages in Sweden if you need to cancel a meeting before heat 16 the bonus is awarded to the team who has the highest total score after the same amount of ridden heats. But a new rule decided about yesterday says that its the full score of the first meeting that counts.

Also it seems like lejonen refused to ride simply because they knew if they stopped the meeting after 12 heats they are safe with 3p but if the meeting would go on they would loose with more then 13p... IMO thats unsportsmanlike and almost cheating.

Im so gutted for Valsarna, but I guess Lejonen did finish top so theres some credabilty in them going to the top.

And as a neutral I have to say I'm pleased all results were taken into account. It's the same here. :)

well its not how its normally done in the series so for some reason SVEMO (as usual) wants to things different. IMO you cant compare Lejoens score after 16 heats yesterday with what Valsarna only achieved after 12 tonight.

Of course not, there are four heats difference. But the riders still had to go out and earn those points, and Lejonen won on that score fair and square. No-one can predict what might or might not have happened in those last four heats. Lejonen could have won them all 5-1. :)

No Lejoen had big problems with the track and 1 or 2 more heats would have brought Valsarna to Elitserien. And even if it starting to rain you can wait more then 10minutes before aborting the meeting but both the ref and Lejoen was very eager to abort as soon as possible since Lejonen knew if they aborted they would win.:mad::mad:

*edit* forgot to mention in heat 13 which they started a lejonen rider laid his bike down and the ref then aborted the meeting. Quite convenient for Lejonen.

The Referee was also från Målilla in Småland (Småland is a province in Sweden) and suprise suprise Lejonen is also from Småland.

If it wasn't for that rain, I also feel that Valsarna would have scored enough to win on aggregate. Lejonen only had Mariusz "Super-Mario" Wegrzyk and to a lesser extent Holder and Möller while Valsarna had more riders in good form.

The Referee was also från Målilla in Småland (Småland is a province in Sweden) and suprise suprise Lejonen is also from Småland.

 When it was abandoned, the track looked like a mess and if the referee had forced the riders to continue, he would have endangered their lives and made himself look like an idiot. IMO, he made the right decision.

Sure, they could have waited a while longer but for a long as I remained in Gislaved (45 minutes), the rain didn't stop, it actually got worse so it wouldn't have helped the meeting to be finished. No-one can say anything about the abandonment of the meeting, but the big farce is that it wasn't 100% how the aggregate score was to be calculated. It shouldn't be debatable at all.

Shall be a real CRACKER!

Big attendance expected. Everything under 5.000 in attendance is poor

Hammarby - Dackarna

Another CRACKER of match and I will be there.

A crowd of under 3000 is bad.

Yes, it sure will be interesting. :approve: Västervik have one h*ll of a team with Chris Harris and Billy Forsberg down at reserve so they must be considered favourites in this semifinal.

5000 would be great and certainly not impossible, but the weather forecast looks awful at this moment. We'll hope for some improvement, worst case scenario could be another meeting as against Kaparna in the regular season where it was less than 800 in the attendence, with constant rain during the day and a 90 minute delay to start the meeting. Just hope that scenario is overly pessimistic. :(

We share the same fears regarding the weather/crowd siutation Anders. Let's hope they don't come true.

Are the Elitserien plays off being shown on TV over in Sweden.

as said on first page, 3rd post. no broadcasts are available neither on tv or internet. :(

Tv4 has the rights but they mainly broadcast football. Hopefully a tv channel who has some more interest can buy the rights for next year.
