Subedei
Mateusz, looking at the above fixtures, would I be right in thinking had Tarnow defeated Torun tonight by enough points to become the "lucky loser", that Sunday would've seen Torun and Tarnow go head to head in the play-offs AGAIN? Lezaw
So, we have final four. After few days of uncertainty (Torun - Tarnow match) Wroclaw finally gets through the semis as lucky loser. Wroclaw - Torun. Undoubtely the banger! This cracking meeting in Wroclaw will have many second agendas, as both boards, clubs and supporters "dislike" each other. Torun have never ridden well on Wroclaw's track, usually scoring poorly. Wroclaw to easy win. My prediction - 55:37 (with double). Rzeszow - Leszno. Every result is possible. Stal is the most sensational team this year in Poland, having priceless Nicki and Davey duo on their sides with strong backup with Scotty and Dobrucki. Last time their youngster Lampart started to score nice points and he is promising though. Leszno suffers several problems with biggest - Jarek Hampel's broken arm. As Leszno first line is quite impressive (KK, Leigh and Balinski) they have a black hole on number 2 (possibly will line-up with Batchelor or Miskowiak). Leszno's youngsters are weaker than Rzeszow's as well, I think. Tough game... Nicki, Leigh, Scotty, KK, Balinski, Daisy... Masterpiece. Rzeszow to win but slightly - 49:41 (no chance to use double). 7th place Race-off... This match will blow Bydgoszcz Stadium away. No chance to guess final result. Cracking perspective of speedway meeting. Mateusz, turn around for a sec... Go Falubaz! Just kidding. Every result is possible. Polonia will face Emil's absence, Zielona Gora suffers second line weakness so... No predictions. Let best win.
Hazzman
Bydgoszcz must stay top flight! I hope Rzeszow win the play-offs...been watching some stuff from there in the playoffs - what a cracking track and team they have.
Mateusz
Mateusz, looking at the above fixtures, would I be right in thinking had Tarnow defeated Torun tonight by enough points to become the "lucky loser", that Sunday would've seen Torun and Tarnow go head to head in the play-offs AGAIN? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. Stupid regulations. Should be just a classic play-off for top 4 or something like this. Matches are usually exciting enough and don't need such crazy rules.. What's more, Torun could have let Tarnow win by a few points to kick Wroclaw out and make their semis easier.. That would have been totally unfair but that's what these regulations allow you to do 7th place Race-off... This match will blow Bydgoszcz Stadium away. No chance to guess final result. Cracking perspective of speedway meeting. (...) Every result is possible. Polonia will face Emil's absence, Zielona Gora suffers second line weakness so... No predictions. Let best win. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Couldn't agree more. I believe Bydgoszcz will score about 50-54 pts to seal the deal in ZG but seriously, no result is gonna surprise me.. Every single point matters. I have no idea how I'm gonna survive these two matches, they are going to be two the most nervous meetings of recent history of the club. It's all or nothing, literally. Have been going to speedway for about 10 years and in that period of time we were never so close to relegation.. Hope both teams will finish with full line-up as the atmosphere is more than boiled. Mind you Bydgoszcz are the only club in Ekstraliga that has never fallen down to Division 1. We've been riding in Ekstraliga since 1951 and no one wants to break up with such tradition. Lawrence
As Mateusz said - it will be togh meeting. Especially 1st legs are always tougher than 2nd ones, where your team knows how many points has to collect to go through. Wroclaw got through to semis as a "very" lucky looser, after not coming to Torun in regular season [bTW - full and optimal line-up was not possible for Wroclaw to get this day]. IMO both semis are exciting. As Lezaw said: Rzeszow and Leszno are very equal teams, and I predict 8 to 10 point win for each sides at home. The key will be smart tactic made from their managers. if there will be a draw in aggregate, Leszno will go through, and I think they meet Wroclaw [another "Holy War"] in Big Final. Why Wroclaw? Wroclaw has specific track, prepared very dirty sometimes by "track master" Marek Cieslak. torun defeated in 2nd round at Wroclaw 35-58, but semis are much diferent matches and Torun can be very focused. I predict about 52-39 on Sunday. Re-match at Torun will show Torun`s strength at home and realistic strength Wroclaw in away meetings. Well - Polsat Sport will show Rzeszow-Leszno on Sunday Sept 2nd, and Torun vs Wroclaw on Sept 16th. If Leszno will go through to the Final and torun will be ruled uot of it - fans will not see Final match on TV, because Unia Leszno didn`t agree to show their matches live :/
Mateusz
(...) because Unia Leszno didn`t agree to show their matches live :/ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You never know, it's just our Polish mess - everything's possible
Lezaw
I wouldn't count on Dworakowski's generosity, as he calls allowing TV to shot the match on "his" stadium.
Lezaw
Freddie and PUK injured. :/ Therefore Bydgoszcz way ahead even before match. I'm sure that this is not what both supporters wanted, right?
Mateusz
Right, my comment on this piece of news then. First of all, I think it might be a "smokescreen" to make us feel more relaxed or self-confident before the match. I won't be surprised seeing both Lindgren and Puk in the pits tomorrow.. Actually, there seem to be many options. Absence of both, only Puk, only Lindgren, RR for Lindgren etc. However, if it's true I can't say my thoughts are with poor Falubaz fans now. They will be very unlucky having their two gunners injured but so were we for most season.. I would love to see my team winning this whole race-off after fair fight from both teams riding with their best squads but the stake is too high and what I really want to happen is my team just saving this damn Ekstraliga, no matter of style they do it. I don't wish any rider any injury, but as it's already happened, I wouldn't mind if Lindgren or Puk stay in bed tomorrow. #$%^, I'm so excited about this match I can't study, I can't do anything!
