Reviresco
I've just - literally - watched the race again and I HAVE to disagree. Hampel (as Trees said) turned left immediatly after leaving the start long before the 'norm' for turning into the bend. Andersen didn't have time to shut off, was clearly clipped by Hampel, and hit the white line which caused his front wheel to lift. I would imagine (having never ridden a speedway bike) that it is very difficult to have 'throttle control' with your front wheel 2 inches off the ground. Just try watching it on full speed and tell me how on earth he had the time to think and act to avoid that crash? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Others do, Andersen can't - yet, simple explanation

Mr. Clemens
You've lost me completely with this one, Mr Clemens. Surely the "best rider on the night" accolade is precisely that? It has nothing at all to do with the rest of the season... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Best rider on the night - because he was involved in a horrendous crash - that could have put him out of the meeting - rest of the GP's - and the world title chase But he picked himself up dusted himself off - got on with it - made the final - finished third - and for me was the - best rider of the night - because he did all that - in other words you pays your money and makes your choice - and for me that made him the best rider on the night Edited September 10, 2007 by Mr. Clemens

I agree with the sentiments though, Nicki will be a worthy World Champion this year.
Steve Turner
A totally forgettable GP on a dire track...well, I thought Brandon had been bad lately, but that ! What's with Poland's poor track prep' in recent times ? GP's, U-21's, Polish Final, World Cup, many of the League meetings...! For this one, the handful of passing was all done on the straights due to bike set-up...or Gollob's usual Bydgoszcz tactics. Wouldn't it be funny if just one referee had the balls Anyway, it was dismal... Still, I had fun watching it from the Speedway Pub in Wrocław ...and a laugh with some Sheffield fans on the flights over and back

Sandie
What a weekend. Gollob was awsome. Company was awsome - from those staying at the hotel to those at the track to those on the bus on Sunday . Mama - We didnt get to thank you for organising Sunday as you stayed on the bus. So from the Feltham family - a great big thanks. Really good to meet up with all our Polish friends again and to add a new Englishman to the list - James it was pleasure!! tone deaf
Had a great weekend. I didn't think the racing was as bad as some made out, although not the best seen in Bydgoscz. However it was worth it to see the genius that is Gollob do it again & enjoy the hospitality of the Poles.

Mr. Clemens
(...)Perhaps that plane crash has turned some sort of light on inside his mind that has told him that he can be world champion - for once you have had that kind of brush with death - some people are freed from a lot of negative inhibitions that previously chained them down (...) What Tomasz Gollob said at the press conference immediately after his 6th Bydgoszcz win on Saturday. One could say that after mistakes, misunderstandings and that plane crash earlier on, I am now on the straight and narrow. I hope to keep the momentum going for at least another month, so in the end I can recover what I lost earlier. Together with my team I am looking forward to Krsko and Gelsenkirchen. After all the hard work together we deserve this win at Bydgoszcz and I am sure we will celebrate some more". <{POST_SNAPBACK}> These are the best compliments you can get - PolskiZuzel - nothing but the facts speaking for themselves I appreciate such compliments very much - I do believe Tomas will go all the way next season - and give you your world champion you have waited for - for so long He is serving notice of this fact - just as Nicki Pedersen served similar notice - when he won the last GP of 2006 - that he would be number one contender for the World Championship in 2007 And i really ought to be going to Bydgoszcz to see him crowned King next year
richsimpson
Quite a good GP all in all I thought. Loved the final and the lap after it where Nicki was chasing Gollob, and Gollob was clearly giving him a bit of time to calm down and so also kept the throttle on! Classic Gollob riding, pleased to see it. Very dignified interview from Nicki, think he was right to be a bit upset on track but got over it easily when he realised he is probably the 2007 World Champion anyway now!
