MARK246
Santa Cup Östersund 27 December Good result for Franky and Antti Aakko. P-A Lindström being highest placed home rider certainly puts him forward as the "new" guy in Swedish Ice Racing. Perhaps Mark Uzzell could give more info about him? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I spoke with P-A at Bollnäs the other day. He is 32 and has been Ice Racing since 2002. He competed in the world championships in 2005. He will ride at Inzell in the VM-Semi final. Edited December 31, 2007 by MARK246

iris123
Glad you done that conkers.I had a bit of trouble working it all out today,as i couldn't access www.russpeedway.ru for some reason.Kononov is looking like he might be a challenger for one of the World Championship spots
Conkers
It wasn't so much the working out, it was compiling the results and realising that I'd cocked it up a bit. Still it's right now. With Tschajka and Kononov, the Russians are unearthing more talent than ever. And what about young Danil Ivanov? Dropped one point in his final ride on the Sunday. 35 points of his teams total is a good score by anyone. Krasnikov may be the old hand come February

Conkers
iris123 Posted Jan 2 2008, 03:17 PM Looks like there will be something from the Ufa Final on Bashkortistan tv on the 6th 6 January (Ufa time (19.50 msk)) http://www.tv-rb.ru/modules.php?name=tv I tried this site in Safari on my Mac and on Firefox on the PC, but it will only work on IE, so looks like I'll have to sit in front of the PC . However, Ufa is 5 hours ahead of GMT so I need to be back from the Bike show by 2.30pm to watch! Is there any sign of it on tomorrows listings? The translation sites appear to have difficulty with this site on most of the pages (including the one with the listings!)
iris123
Just looked now you said that.On the main page there is no programme planned for 21:50!. But looked on the sport programme and there is "21:50 the Conduct- sport" on for 15 minutes tomorrow.Maybe that is the programme.I hope it comes up on the link provided And latest from Ufa and Ivan Ivanov has 2 last places so far! Conkers
Looks like Krasnikov is still the man to beat although Kononov and Tschajka are still in with a shout, should be interesting tomorrow. Tuned into TV-RB at 4.30 and sat through the news which carried a short report on the meeting. It was loads of crowd shots and loads of Talking Heads who all appeared to support Krasnikov, with snatches of racing. Oh well! Bryn
Some years now, alas, since I've been to Ice Racing - mind you last six years winters I've spent time in Oz (wish I was there now!). Certainly enjoyed my jaunts, especially in the days of the HL1 squad and will NEVER forget seeing Cribby cry which he did the night he finally qualified for a World Final! iris123
And again it only takes a matter of weeks for Baraboshkins form to dip dramatically Hope Dmitri gets going tomorrow. Never saw Cribby in tears, but i did start a thread about him and his Ice racing exploits a few years ago.Is there anyone better than Bruce to give as an example of a great speedway rider?Never a top liner but the guy was one of those that any sport needs. Can't imagine him in tears tbh

SUCH a tough guy - one night when I was at Exeter in the pits, Cribby crashed and dislocated a shoulder. Refused to go to hospital instead walked back to the pits and somehow managed to manipulate his shoulder back in then swung from a piece of scaffold pole holding up the pit roof - went out for his next race! Conkers
Talking of Saalfelden, there are some pictures of the track prep on the Assen site. Looks like they will have lots of Ice there next weekend! Good prep for Frankie too. Anyone know why Posa did so badly?
