Apparantly, Togliatti wanted to ride in the higher league, but have been told they have to qualify from the first league, so expect them to take the lower league with ease with the Ivanovs and Khomitsevichs in their side.

The 2007 Finnish final at Oulu has been confirmed and is staged on the 29th of December starting at 6 pm. 2008 final will be held sometime in the spring at Seinäjoki.

The individual meeting at Kokkola has been cancelled. Not really sure why but it's cancelled.

The way Krasnikov has been going, he has to start out as favourite, but Pavel Tsjajka is a rider worth looking out for. He scored well in the first round of the Russian League last weekend and was the only rider to beat Nikolai in Blagovesjtsjensk (I don't count NKs exclusion).

The Ivanovs are NKs main opposition in Shadrinsk.

I see Sergei Kasakov is still riding - twice world champion (1982/83) and tough as old boots. Broke a collar bone on the Saturday night of the 1985 World Final in Assen (opening Race). Went to Hospital, then rode on the Sunday with it strapped up.

Like you say no big surprises.Baltachev doing well on his home track.Didn't do too bad last year in the World Championship and might improve this year.Good to see Bulankin still mixing it with the best. And in Shadrink,Arkhipov,Krysov and i think it was the Khomitsevitch and Ivanov brothers team mate at Togliatti,Karachintsev who Bahnsport refered to as the new shooting star.Well he only just made it through, but he is there

It's great to see Mark Uzzell has a place in Flims in the Swiss Masters.

I hear the weather is turning cold in Sweden so hopefully you'll get plenty of  practice on the lakes over xmas.

Good Luck Mark for the Ice racing season.

Thank you for the support Lyndylou. Nice to know I'm still remembered in the UK.

It has got a little colder, hopefully it'll be a better season than last year with the weather.

If you or any other forum members are at the ice racing when I'm there, make yourself known as it's always good to see British supporters and the Union Jack.
