Thanks for that Doug, had to go shopping this afternoon (if I want to go to Assen and Berlin) so many thanks for the update!

By my Spreadsheet I make the standings as follows:

1 Nikolai Krasnikov Rus 25

2 Franz Zorn A 20

3 Danil Ivanov Rus 18

4 Maxim Sakharov Rus 16

5 Stanislav Archipov Rus 14

6 Dmitri Khomitsevich Rus 13

7 Ilya Drozdov Rus 12

8 Pavel Tschajka Rus 11

9 Harald Simon A 10

10 Gunter Bauer D 9

11 Per-Olof Serenius S 8

12 Antonin Klatovsky CzR 7

13 Johnny Tuinstra NL 6

14 Stefan Svensson S 5

15 Dmitri Tschatchin D 4

16 Vitali Khomitsevich Rus 3

Great result for Franky - Krasnikov will be watching out for him now, as Zorn is good around Assen and Berlin. I do think Vitali rode to keep his name on the sheet, as he will sit out Tomorrow, and get two weeks recovery.

Aakko to do well tomorrow, f-s-p?

Hopefully yes, naturlich! Come to think of it I had a phone conversation with a fellow Finn who was at the Team World's, he said that there has definately been something positive going on at the Aakko camp. I just got back home, I was at Varkaus to see Kalle Katajisto and we had a chat. Alltough I'd say Doug understands nothing about good ice hockey  , I saw a good game today between JYP and Kärpät at Jyväskylä's Hippos arena. It's (the site of the arena) now occupied by a Finnish baseball court and an ice sports complex, but as I've been led to understand they had better purposes for it in the 50's and 60's. Even if it was just longtrack. :approve:

If you had seen British ice hockey you'd know that compared to German ice hockey it is like comparing Finnish speedway with Polish speedway B)

Krasnikov going for a perfect weekend by the look of things.

Looking at the stats, 5 wins off Red, 2 each off Blue/White and 0 off yellow.

Yesterday it looked like this:

Pts Heat Wins

1 27 5 25 %

2 35 7 35 %

3 33 4 20 %

4 25 4 20 %

Right - Off to Telford and I'll pick up the results from there!

Keep them coming mate!

Once again, thanks for the results Doug. Sorry for the late reply, but I just got in from Telford (fancy resurfacing the M6 at night!) having left at 9.30pm

Here are the standings I have after 2 rounds:

1 Nikolai Krasnikov Rus 50

2 Danil Ivanov Rus 34

3 Maxim Sakharov Rus 34

4 Dmitri Khomitsevich Rus 33

5 Franz Zorn A 33

6 Stanislav Archipov Rus 28

7 Pavel Tschajka Rus 23

8 Harald Simon A 21

9 Gunter Bauer D 18

10 Ilya Drozdov Rus 18

11 Per-Olof Serenius S 16

12 Antonin Klatovsky CzR 14

13 Johnny Tuinstra NL 11

14 Antti Aakko SF 10

15 Stefan Svensson S 9

16 Dmitri Tschatchin D 4

17 Tommy Flyktman SF 3

18 Vitali Khomitsevich Rus 3

With Franky's 6th place today he is still in with a chance of a rostrum spot, but if Krasnikov has a poor meeting at Assen or Berlin, we could end up with a final like last year in Berlin.

Franky will have to make all the A-Finals though imo to put Krasnikov under pressure.Krasnikov should barring a disaster at least make the A-Finals,and could by Berlin have too much of a gap.Obviously i don't want anyone to have problems, but it would be nice if the title was still to be decided on the last day.At least if Vitali is better by Assen and Berlin he could mess things up a bit for Nikolai and let someone else in with a chance.Like i said on inspeed,it is a pity Ivan Ivanov,Bulankin and Bogdanov for various reasons didn't make it.I don't think they have quite the complex about Krasnikov that the others do.

I spent some time translating some of the Russian forum reply's, and the people there seemed to think that Aakko has been doing really well.

Some excellent photography can be found there also, including this site. I just pointed and pushed some buttons, found some excellent stuff! :approve:

Got to agree with you on the missing Russians, but like you say, Vitali may give Krasnikov a run in the next meeting. Franky and Aakko go well around it and don't forget, Posa always does well on his birthday for some reason, so it should be interesting.

Those pics that f-s-p has found are really good. Could be from the Junior Final in Sterlitamak

Oh well - a week and a bit to go to Assen.

If any forumites are going, and you see me, I am the photographer in the green jacket with all my lenses slung around my waist like a gunslinger - please say hello.

If anyone is looking for a good place to meet up, the bar under the main stand is usually the preferred place. I usually pop in there before both meetings.

If you look closely, Sanok have a qualifying round, Russia appear to have 2 rounds at Krasnagork as well as Ufa. Have the FIM scrapped the team championship then?

Oh yeah.I thought Krasnogorsk was one of the qualis.Didn't notice we are back to 4 GPs.Which is good

Wonder if they are still looking for somewhere to stage the team championship
