Kononov's date of birth is 26/04/1987 - that's all I know at the moment.

(Pfff... "the young lads"... what was your age again? :D;))

I will be there on friday with Jonas Holmqvist who raports the news from Sweden in Speedway Star, it will be his first meeting since 2000.

I was at Östermalms IP on the VM semi final in 1995.

The arena is a classic one for iceracing and speedway, it lays just a stonethrow from Stockholm Stadion.

Looking forward to the meeting very very much!

/ Mikael

Received this from the FIM earlier today..

"Due to the injury of the rider Markus Skabraut, he will replaced by another Austrian, Mr Martin Posch. Therefore, the new 2nd reserve N°18 will be now Mr Josef Kreuzberger."

Anyone know how many qualify from Stockholm?I am guessing it is 5 plus 5 from Saalfelden and then 6 from Inzell. But that is just a guess. With 3 Russians it is going to be very tight what with Posa,Aakko and Klabo.A repeat of Saransk last year with those 3 fighting it out.

And anyone know if there will be live updates?

You are right, indeed

So the reserves will come from Stockholm and Saalfelden too?

Also Franky Zorn may well drop his first points of the season on Sunday as he has some Russians to contend with.

Doug,

Vitaly can't have 6 points as Dmitri and Vitaly should rode againt eachother in heat 5. And Dmitri won both his heats (2x3=6).

But thanks for the update :D.
