iris123
Whats happened Krasnikow <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well in his first heat it seems he was delaying at the start and just as he moved back the tapes went up,leaving him stuck there. But the opinion is he didn't want to make the start as his Ufa team colleagues(Baltachev & Bulankin)needed points desperately from the heat.So maybe Krasnikov decided to let them go In the second heat he clashed with Arkhipov and was excluded Then in the last heat clash with the Khomitsevich brothers.Dmitri made the start and pushed Nikolai out allowing Vitali to pass him Edited January 6, 2008 by iris123

I'll go Krasnikov, Tschajka, Dmitri Khomitsevich DutchGrasstrack Jan 1 2008, 10:47 PM Krasnikov will win it. 2. Igor Kononov 3. Dmitri Khomitsevich iris123 Jan 2 2008, 03:17 PM Not doubt about Krasnikov other than injury stopping him 2.D.Bulankin 3.I.Kononov I think we should give up this predictions lark Anyway, just watched the coverage on TV-RU and it was a great meeting. Occasionally the camera work was a bit iffy but otherwise a great bit of TV. Just hope the Saransk TV station show the meeting there in February. iris123
Think you're right Conkers.Only one of my riders even qualified Pity about Bulankin as he was involved in some good heats and what a fantastic bit of skill to get back on the bike when all looked lost Some great heats there.Really is a tough meeting with so many good riders

DutchGrasstrack
Problems in Sweden ??? " (from: http://www.ib.se/index.php) In English... a important cooling device failed to work.. last saturday they only had 8 centimeters ice.... they have to reach 20 centimeters at least. Any more info from the Swedish guys here ?

They are making ice at night, and so far it's 8cm thick of the required 20. It says the organizers paniced a little when it broke down but now they are in positive and good mood and confident of making it.

Joni
It did surprise me as well.Maybe they are the only riders who wanted to go to Poland for this???????? Both in the Ufa junior team. But i would have thought Baltachev would be a better choice.Maybe someone else knows?Weter? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Last season the Russian Track Racing Commission decided to send to the EC only junior riders, who don't (and didn't in the past, like Baltachov) take part in the WC. They didn't stick to that decision last season when Dmitri Khomitsevich became 2nd substitute and, ultimately, European Champion, but that's another story... Nevertheless, they decided to apply the same rule this season. Kononov, R. Akimenko, Ryabokon & Alekseyev were the best junior riders in the Russian Championship.
