Subedei
Sad to see that Szczepan Bukowski, the one-time chairman of Unia Tarnow and manager of the Polish team that won the SWC in 2005 has passed away at the young age of 59. My condolences to his friends, family and everyone at Unia Tarnow.
Mateusz
His funeral will take place a few hours before tomorrow's meeting, at 2 pm in Wierzchoslowice near Tarnow. Edited August 11, 2007 by Mateusz
Mateusz
Tarnow v Torun 41:51 Torun are actually in the semis already as they managed to beat Tarnow easily at their track, which was very watered and didn't seem to suit the host at all tonight. Czestochowa v Leszno - rained-off Wroclaw - Rzeszow 48:42 Andersen 4, Pedersen 18 points! A really good result for Rzeszow. Everyone struggles at the Wroclaw patchy track a lot but Rzeszow scored over 40 and are close to make a big surprise! No one has won at Rzeszow so far this season.. It's gonna be a suberb 2nd leg meeting in two weeks.

Lezaw
Apart from results... 16 yo (birthday week or two ago) Maciej Janowski (WTS Wroclaw) had his official debut in Wrocław - Rzeszow match yesterday. He passed polish speedway rider certificate exam only last week! In his first heat he finished third scoring nicely 1 point, after he out-distandced Messing (50 mtrs behind) and lost after nice fight with Les (few meters) and team-mate Sitera (1st from gate). Though he is only 16 eyes of many are focused on him. I am telling you, he is helluva gifted rider. I am glad that I saw his 1st heat live. Lezaw
Is there a re-staging date for the Czestochowa - Leszno match? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, this week Thursday... This decision will start "riot", I guess. It's racing-day in BEL, right? Both teams will have problems with line-ups.
TwoMinuteWarning
Yep, Adams, Richardson, and Ulamek all due to ride for Swindon on Thursday! Pity Czestochowa couldn't race the match on Sunday, instead of the European Junior Final
Subedei
Yep, Adams, Richardson, and Ulamek all due to ride for Swindon on Thursday! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah but Ulamek will ride for Czestochowa, if he wants to keep his licence. That, I gather, was the threat hanging over Chrzanowski's head if he hadn't complied with Gdansk's request regarding last Saturday.
Steve Turner
16 yo Maciej Janowski, he is helluva gifted rider. Lezaw
But was this meeting really the best time to give him those rides ?! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep. He was to ride 1 ht and TRY to score some points. He almost scored paid 3. He is ready to battle in Ekstraliga! I saw him few times on trainings and sometimes he's been winning with Jedrzejak or Slabon. Last time he has beaten Sitera on Saturday training during 1 on 1. Of course he is way more skilled than regular 2007 WTS polish junior - Korbel (loaned from RKM Rybnik). Most important thing is that WTS coach Marek Cieslak (national coach as well) likes to prepare heavy track so Maciej knows how to struggle with grip. I keep fingers crossed! Lezaw
Have you got the line-up for the Leszno-Czestochowa match on Thursday, please? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well it's complicated. As this is re-match, teams were not to announce line-ups again. So line-ups are the same as on Sunday. UNIA LESZNO: 1. Krzysztof Kasprzak 2. Damian Baliński 3. Troy Batchelor 4. Jarosław Hampel (R/R) 5. Leigh Adams 6. Adam Kajoch 7. Jurica Pavlic WLOKNIARZ CZESTOCHOWA: 9. Greg Hancock 10. Sławomir Drabik 11. Sebastian Ułamek 12. Lee Richardson 13. Lukas Dryml 14. Edward Kennett 15. Mateusz Szczepaniak As we all know BEL Thursday set some problems to both teams well there will be "few" changes on both sides. Leszno will probably start with this line-up though: 1. Baliński 2. Kasprzak 3. Batchelor 4. Hampel (R/R) 5. Miśkowiak 6. Kajoch 7. Pavlic Some people believe that Leszno pay Swindon a fine (?) for Leigh and Adams will ride this match. I myself doubt. Swindon needs Leigh, right? On Czestochowa's side there are also "few" problems. Lukas has match at Peterborough (some say that Lukas will join Czestochowa, but Boro's board don't want to hear it and warn him that will be given a fine or suspension if so!) and Richardsson rides for Swindon, right? Maybe Antonio will join Wlokniarz tomorrow. So: 9. Hancock 10. Drabik 11. Ułamek 12. Lindbaeck 13. Dryml or Miturski 14. Kennett 15. Szczepaniak Leigh is the key. Cz-wa to win (I hope!). Delgado
I'd be astonished if Leigh Adams rides for Leszno. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'll be if he doesn't. Ten years in Unia Leszno and a legendary status there. Why he should chose Swindon then?

Mateusz
also does Kasprzak jako ZZ. mean KK rides R/R for Hampel? Yeah, "jako Zastepstwo Zawodnika (ZZ) za" - "as a Rider Replacement (RR) for". Edited August 16, 2007 by Mateusz
