Mr Bee
Couldn't see this one started so thought I would post the line up. PK is in for AJ as first reserve and I guess Hampel wont be riding due to his injury. I'm not sure who the next reserve is. Anyone got any ideas? Its PK's home track in Sweden, reckon i'll have a few quid on him each way when I've seen the odds. Mr Bee
Laukkanen for Hamster... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cheers. That will give the Edinburgh fans a bit to cheer about then.
Steve Turner
Yes, but it also means that the Scandinavian GP has the complete set...riders from Sweden, Denmark, Norway and now Finland

tigerblues
Yes, but it also means that the Scandinavian GP has the complete set...riders from Sweden, Denmark, Norway and now Finland <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jesus wept, he was Polish last week For me, it'd be ideal if Nicki didn't have a very good round, Adams and Hancock both got to the final with Crump (if fit) and another.. Bomber would be nice and although Nicki would still be in front that would close the gap up a bit.. 4 rounds after this one can be a long time so I'd love it if there was still a few riders who could take the title in Germany. Realistically, Nicki will probably go and get 15+ and extend his lead over Leigh Adams by even more making it even more likely Nicki will end up champion
Steve Turner
None of the other riders are anywhere near consistent enough to even stay with Nicki, and the only reason they're still in with a shout of any sort is the new scoring system. Can anyone put a name forward of a rider who deserves the title as much as Nicki ? It's gonna take major changes/injuries to open the way for a real challenger... Lake Bodom Comet
Hate to be pedantic but Finland isn't in Scandinavia, thats just Sweden, Norway and Denmark!

Out of interest, and I guess you're the man to ask, what would have been the points situation under the old scoring system? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not the man to ask, I don't know. There seems little point in working it out, to be honest, because the philosophy of the riders is different with this scoring system in place, compared to how it used to be, so there would've been different results. Andrew E
Out of interest, , what would have been the points situation under the old scoring system? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> nicki has 110pts right now under old rules would have 123pts while adams now has 83pts under the old rule who would have 87pts so nicki would have an 36pt lead if we were on last years point scoring

Ghostwalker
Quote from Wikipedia - "As a cultural and historical concept, Scandinavia can include Finland as well" That'll do me... wink.gif No i strongly disagree with that. Scandinavia is solely Sweden and Norway = the two countries that together makes the Scandinavian Peninsula. Neither Finland or Denmark are a part of Scandinavia. You should use "the Nordic Countries" instead of Scandinavia if you want to include Finland and Denmark (and Iceland), Can anyone put a name forward of a rider who deserves the title as much as Nicki? Nicki has been the most consistent rider this year but IMO Leigh Adams would be the rider who are most worthy a World Champion Title. For many years he has been up there finishing top 3 or top 5 but somehow he has never manage to climb the final step on the ladder. I was now told that the mountains between Sweden and Norway are called Scandinavia (or what ever...) but all three of us are one at the top from the start of the peninsula and our highest mountain ( or a hill ) is part of that mountain network. Thats Halti, just over 1k. Alltough it will probably happen, Laukkanen has not been confirmed yet.

Once in the World Top 3, just once ! ...it's actually embarrassing for someone so dominant at League level throughout Europe. Pollyanna
I think a lot of the riders from Harris down will be using the GP events as pure practice for next year as Nicki is too far out front IMO to be caught <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It is Nicki's year this year, just as it was Jason's last year and Tony Rickardsson's the year before. Had a feeling it might have been Hans Andersen's year! Maybe next year?
Saint Rob
My prediction for what its worth 1 Hans 2 Nicki 3 Leigh 4 Lord Jason With Bjarne, Greg, Tomasz & Bomber to bottle it in the semis Nicholls, Lindback & Holta scrapping for last place
Silver Bee
With Bjarne, Greg, Tomasz & Bomber to bottle it in the semis Nicholls, Lindback & Holta scrapping for last place <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Firstly, when someone doesn't make the final, it doesn't mean they've bottled it, it just means they aren't generally as good as or as fast on the night as the people who have gone through Secondly, unlike your beloved Bjarne (who's actually won the battle for last place in a GP this year), Scott doesn't generally end up fighting for last place. superguest
I will be watching this on the edge of my seat. Two riders in a Grand Prix for us is a very big deal. Good luck to PK and Freddie! Hope Scott continues his good form as well.
