That was a really good meeting last night . Individual meetings usually aren't my cup of tea , but that was a good 'un . Pity Shane missed the gate in the final after being top scorer , but that's speedway . Must be frustrating for the Monarchs to see Daniel Nermark coming back and riding like that . Young Woffinden was very good , but i'm not so sure he actually was third in the final - another Armadale/ Jimbo optical illusion . And could you believe the dust on the 1st bend :o

Best match I’ve seen in a while. Nermark and Grieves were ruthless in getting to the front, although Nermark was over keen in heat 8 with Woodward, who as an ex Monarch should have known its always the faller who walks on that corner. Couldn’t understand rerunning again with 2 riders when the heat was previously almost over. Parker was superb, but missed the gate in the final, not sure if he would have held Nermark anyway, who was a worthy winner.

Complin, Henry, Doolan, Woodward and Woffinden also added to the night with some great rides, Woffinden in particular with his inside line racing especially in the latter stages when the dirt had moved out.

Speaking of which, I was always led to believe that it was only other tracks that had a dust problem.

Seriously though give me dust everytime, with racing that standard, fast and with plenty of drive for riders to catch and pass each other, it shows the level of entertainment Armadale can provide when they put a bit of dirt down.

Glad you enjoyed it, Paulco, and sorry I missed you. I didn't think that Shane did miss the gate in the final. It was a pretty even break but he had no advantage going into the first turn so the inside was not the place to be. I'm pretty sure that Daniel Nermark would have won the race anyway particularly when you consider the margin of his final win.

Woffinden's surge off the inside of the fourth bend to pass Parker on the line for third place was sheer class. One of the best passes I've seen on that spot since the halcyon days of Peter Carr. Tai is clearly a real talent for the future. Oh and yes Parker was relegated to the back. I was right opposite the starting gate for that one. I'm sure the 'dreaded video' of which you're so fond will prove the point (but not to Glasgow fans of course! ).

I'll take your word for the fact that there was some dust coming off the first bend although I never noticed it to be honest. You have to remember that there were 22 heats raced plus the reruns and rain had been forecast for the area. Perhaps the track had been underwatered at the start although the water bowser did come out from time to time.

Daniel Nermark was a deserved winner and you're wrong if you think that frustrates us. I'm always happy to see former Monarchs riders do well and I think you'll find that he was a popular winner.

I hope that Carl Stonehewer is OK. There were a lot of worries at first but it seems that concussion kicked in hopefully rather than anything more serious.

For Edinburgh, Laukkanen had some brilliant moments but still needs to gate a bit better. Stancl's engine was ready to blow and he pulled out rather than risk the engine he has set up for Newcastle tomorrow afternoon. Matthew Wethers suffered engine problems too but it was good to see Andrew Tully looking much sharper than of late.

Daniele Tessari was in some pain after the meeting so we won't know for a bit whether he is really ready yet to take his place in the side.

Of the others, Cameron Woodward looked brilliant till his heat 8 fall. That was a sore one and I understand that he hurt his 'bits'. He could have been there with the rest of them otherwise. Kevin Doolan looked great too and Christian Henry had his moments. It looked like James Grieves would be in the final but he had no answer to Nermark and Doolan in the semi-final.

Another splendid Scottish Open meeting - like you, Paulco, I'm not a great fan of individual meetings but these are usually the exception to the rule and have produced many classics over the years.

Do we know if that was Stoney's chain that went as it's unusual for Carl just to come down on his own like that .

It was encouraging to see Wato improving with every race last night , with the league match coming up in a fortnight .

Laukkanen apart , the home riders were very poor - Wethers and , apparently , Stancl having mechanical nightmares . The more i seen of the Monarch riders last night , the more confident of a Tigers victory in a fortnight i've became .

Does anyone have an update on how Stoney is after his awful looking crash last night?

Apparently kept in overnight for observation Pammie . Obviously not riding for Workington tonight , which leaves the Comets in a bit of a mess .

Excellent meeting, soured by Stoneys crash one of the most concerning I have seen

Woffinden was fantastic, the control he showed was very impressive, whats he like on big tracks? as lets face it, Rye and Armadump don't count for much on the continent.

Really hope he plumps for Team Gb, as a team with Auty, Bridger, Woffinden and Harris really wets the appetite!!

Can understand the dust complaints as I had to move myself, however that option was available so it no big deal.

Super Kalle looks like one for the future and enjoyed seeing Complin for the first time bags of style

I really enjoyed the meeting on Friday. Some great races with a very worthy winner in Daniel Nermark although he was a very lucky man not to be excluded when he clearly ran Cameron Woodward in to the fence

I can't comment on James Grieves exclusion as I was too far away to see what really happened although going by others closer to the incident it was the correct decision.

The star of the show for me was Tai Woffinden. What a talent he is. So stylish, fast and controlled. Where did he get that speed from especially on the inside line.

Was great to see Stoney racing again but that was an awful crash he had :(

Shane Parker, Kevin Doolan, and Kaj Laukkanen were all impressive and Cam really was in the the thick of his races.

Well done also in getting the meeting wrapped up before the curfew time considering the crashes and re-runs.

Can't wait to watch the meeting again on DVD.
