smiles
With it saying Jonsson and now Hampel out, that puts PK and Laukkanen in the next round. Can see PK being a very good spoiler but cant see Kaj doing anything after his Belle Vue and World cup rides. Hampel out for the rest of the season can see Nicholls having a good round and getting in the top 8 for the rest of the season. Who thinks Hampel needs to be seeded next year.i do but will they
tigerblues
I'm obviously missing something What's wrong with Hampel?
RPNY
Complicated break of his had apparently. He should definately be seeded through next year, no question. I hope PK gets a few GP's beore the season's out, he's a class act.
tommy
JAROSLAW Hampel has suffered a complicated hand fracture in a Swedish league meeting. He may not be back on track this season. A worse setback could hardly have happened for Jarek, at this moment of the speedway season. Hampel, who had some motor problems in the spring, was now getting back to his best form. He won the Speedway World Cup with Poland, and he took second place in the Czech Grand Prix last Saturday. "I am back on the right track. Now I can chase," he said with a smile in Prague... In the Swedish league match between Dackarna and Elit Vetlanda, Hampel had an accident with Fredrik Lindgren. The Polish rider lost control of his machine and his Swedish colleague was unable to avoid him. "We still do not know how long Jarek will be ruled out for. It depends on a medical examination. First speculations suggest three months' break," says Stanislaw Kryjom, Unia Leszno coach. per speedwayworld.tv
beesboybert
Wonder if Hampel will be subjected to the "beggar treatment" if he is seeded next year? I hope Hampel is seeded next year, he's eaily one of the best 16 in the world and the G.P's would be poorer without him in my opinion Edited August 1, 2007 by beesboybert
Hazzman
If Nicholls doesn't get in the top 8 now, I am sad to say he never will.
beesboybert
and when he does get in the top 8 it will no doubt be down to the fact Hampel was injured accoriding to some people. Anyway this thread shouldn't be about Scotty, lets hope AJ and JArek both recover quickly!
Andrew E
bad news for hampel cos he looked like he was getting back to his best he should be seeded next year cos on his day he can beat anyone Edited August 1, 2007 by Andrew E
Vic Ridgeon
First of all can I say "get well soon" to AJ and Jarek Hampel. I think that despite the consistency issues that affect both of them, on their day they are two of the most exciting racers about! The GP will be a quieter place without them. Quick question, PK is the first reserve and (as I have said on an AJ thread earlier) with my Wolves tinted specs I'm really looking forward to seeing him. However, does he replace AJ, Hampel or is he just the first person called up when a GP rider is injured? Put another way, if PK replaces AJ and Kaj replaces Hampel then, assuming AJ misses just 1 GP but Hampel misses the rest, then when AJ is fit again does PK get dropped from the series and Kaj carries on as Hampel's replacement or does PK just carry on and Kaj drops out (sorry if that sounds over-complicated). Saint Rob
If AJ is back and Hampel misses the rest of the season, then PK, as 1st reserve, will replace Hampel
garf
Wonder if Hampel will be subjected to the "beggar treatment" if he is seeded next year? . . . . . . . . <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't think so, as he need to get seeded several years before he will get raised to the "beggar-level"

He's outstanding in Poland, and Prague is a place he always goes well on, but the others he underperforms consistently, and I don't think the rest of this season would have been any different. But the GPs won't be as exciting without both AJ and Hampel in them, and I wish them both all the best for their recovery. Saint Rob
Well if Laukkanen's riding it means Lindback will score at least 1 point
speedygirl
but it was hampel that didnt qualify for the gp challenge and went out in Lonigo this year!! so maybe not a such a class act after all!
Mateusz
It's very unlikely AJ will be back for the Malilla GP already.
