Gemini
Well done to Sweden. I do so like it when the underdogs win. Just for the record it's interesting to note that the overall result would have been the same without the jokers so no-one was robbed. Sweden... 58 (62) Australia.. 57 (57) Denmark..49 (53) Poland......46 (49) England....40 (44)
Dekker
Unlucky for the aussiesm, but lyons big performance was too much to over come. Nice to see the Swedes had faith in their kids and didnt look back to the failures like stefan danno and stefan "FWC" andersen.
Nutty Tart
Congratulation to Sweden on a fine win :? I think all riders from last night can hold there heads high for coping with the really awful track condition!!!! I must admit I didn't give Sweden much of a chase at the start of the night
Jenn
Well Done the Swedes! Just to say a BIG special congratulations to PK!!! Its all about Peter Ljung on here so far.........but PK had an AWFUL lot of pressure, in both the run off and the final, and he did it both times! No matter what result Ljung had, PK had to go out and win it for them! WELL DONE PK! Im personally glad that Rickardsson wasnt there last night!!! The 5 riders got to totally in the spot light without Trick stealling any thunder!!! They totally derseved it! Well done them!! as for the Aussies................It wasnt just Jason Lyons that blew it for them! They were 13 up when Jason hadnt scored any!! 3 4th places in the last 3 heats is ridiculous...........especially when the 3 riders were number 2,3 and 4 in the world! They only have themselves to blame!
Philip Addison
Well done Sweden, for me the biggest shock in 25 years of Speedway but totally deserved, i thought they did well to finish in front of the Czechs without Tony but to go and win it all...Awesome. I'm also well chuffed the Aussies didn't win.Did they choke at the end or get complacent ?.Looking at Jason Crump in the pits with about 6 or 7 races to go he looked mega confident, can't believe how it all evaporated. Sweden were a team, whereas Australia were carrying a passenger in Jason Lyons who looked a danger to himself and everyone else in his first 3, then he looked totally uninterested in his last 2,trailing in half a lap behind.Well done SVERIGE !!!!!!!!!! Ozyace
Congratulations to Sweden, to win it without TRick means they thoroughlly deserved to win. Bad luck to our boys, i could see the Danes or Poles giving us a shake but Sweden WOW!
shazzybird
Well Done Sweden that's all I can say, was disappointed TEAM GB did not to get to the rostrum if only just to poke a couple of fingers up @ the critics of Middlo on his team selection.... David, Dean, Gary, Lee & Scott fantastic riding & team spirit throughout the campaign .... I for one was behind you boys all the way (even if it was by just being in front of the tv!!) My neighbours are now convinced that I have totally lost the plot as they heard me screaming at the tv and with an airhorn blasting every now and then they are not impressed tough really if they loved the sport like I do then they would understand wouldn't they :!: Once again Congratulations Sweden Bad Luck Middlo excellent team you put out, if it could have been won on team spirit we would have walked it :!:
