Husband, daughter and myself along with 4 friends are going to Aussie with travel plus tours,

Sounds like a horde of youse, Rita!

Here's a coupla tips -

1/. Be extremely wary of any charlatan trying to sell large Australian souvenirs, such as the Sydney Opera House, Uluru or the Great Barrier Reef - I happen to be the legitimate owner of these sites and will be able to provide you with a much better deal. :approve:

2/. Please ignore any vicious slanders about my drinkin' habits or other proclivities from so-called friends of mine such as Lunchy & Spiderweb; they're much worse than me, Honest!! B)

By the way, have you ever played Crown & Anchor?

You need a chauffeur BFD ?

I'll probably be driving Melbourne / Mildura / Adelaide / Mt Gambier / Melbourne and then flying northwards for the Sydney / Newcastle rounds (the way they drink up there its too dangerous to drive, hopefully I didn't blot my copybook last year and I can fluke a piece of floor to kip on at last years hosts abode).

Can gladly squeeze you in for the Southern leg, bad luck after that !! Fancy stopping off in the Barossa for a leisurely day or two sampling some local product en route to Adelaide from Mildura ? I can recommend "The Big Lobster" at Kingston SE for lunch on the way to Mt Gambier (and the pub at Murray Bridge for morning tea too).

And yes, I know I said I'd never visit Mildura again. Must remember a torch this time though. What price you got Uluru going for this year ?

Sounds a bit like a road trip Lunchy, just like me old Hippy Daze on the Magic Bus to Afghanistan & all points beyond!! - reminds me of the time when roving or should that be raving reporter Raoul Duke and his attorney, Dr. Gonzo drove to Las Vegas to cover the 1971 Mint 400 motorcycle race for Sports Illustrated magazine. However, the race was merely an excuse for the duo to abuse their expense account and indulge in a galaxy of drugs. What was initially a simple journey to cover a motorcycle race mutated into a bizarre search for the American Dream.

"We had two bags of grass, seventy- five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi- colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.

Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.

The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. And I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon."

Raoul Duke

What should I bring?

PS I've attempted to email you - please let me know if you've got it!

PPS This year Uluru is going out at a bargain basement price, Lunchy, but for you, I'll double it!!

BFD I will be at Milly Gillman and Mt Gambier dont know about the last two yet as they may clash with some 3 wheeled racing.

I am now team manager and sponser of a couple of up and coming lads!

BFD and Lunchys road trip sounds a bit like Thema and louise LOL.

Should plan for a night here at Murry Bridge on your way from Milly to Gillman.

Beds provided of course.

Nothing about a qualifying meeting on the usual sites - I've emailed some folks but no reply so far. Tricky with the first round at Mildura being so close to Xmas - the 29th - meeting would probably have to be well before - Gillman's got a meeting on the 15th so the next weekend is free, other tracks would be too far away, unless they had it on the 27th in Mildura it could pose problems, as there's a Cocktail Party to meet & greet on the 28th.

Never bin to a cocktail party before - they'll probably have a cocktail glass stubby holder made up for the occasion, and I'll be drinkin' Crown Lager thru a straw. Must remember to hoist me pinky! Any idea what Bryn's idea of a cocktail is - Bundy & Coke with an olive and a lickul placcy umbrella perhaps?

Hey Trackman, are you venturing South?

Anyone know if or when or where the qualiflying meeting for the Aust Titles is going to be held?

Read on Speedway bikes australia that they will wait to see what entries they receive before deciding if a qualifying meeting is justified.

Regards Darrell
