shazzybird
Marek Cieslak to take over England? proven track record, world cup winner <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And reverting back to England rather than TEAM GB
Subedei
will he be bringing his tools over with him steve? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's no way to talk about the Polish team, young fellow.
Bobbin' Along
will he be bringing his tools over with him steve? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought the Poles were pretty useful myself. No need to call them tools..... And I don't know about anyone else, but I'd rather have an England team than a GB team - for a start they were all English! And no, I'm not xenophobic. SuzieQ
how about Mark Loram? if he decides that his career is no more. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope that is already been discussed on the other thread where they want a clown to take over! Bobbin' Along
Why? You just alienate any potential fans from Scotland and Wales. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Granted, you made a good point, but I'll ask you this - did we alienate them in the 70s, 80s and 80s when we had England and not Team GB? Did we encourage Welsh and Scottish fans when we had a Great Britain team in the 50s and 60s that included Kiwis and Aussies?
MattyHart
A former rider is a must IMO,Mark Loram would be a good option,Chris Louis maybe.

Or are you happy living in the past? I for one would be pretty peeved if it became England as I would have nobody to support at international level. beesboybert
Peter Oakes would be my choice (as long as he didnt quit the bees to do the job). Done a great job at Coventry and with him being involved in the youth system he would be a good man for the job and help integrate the up and coming youngsters into the team

tigerblues
how about Mark Loram? if he decides that his career is no more. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mark Loram is an interesting one, IMO I think he'd be better as more of a.. like a mentor sort of thing (I dunno if that's the correct word to use but you'll get the point ) to generally get behind the lads, encourage them, give advice on the track and the bike and things like that. If you're looking at riders/former riders, I'd look no further than Chris Louis, he's ridden for GB and bloody well when he did and also has his experience from being a sort of manager at Ippo. If he wanted the job then I'd not be able to appoint him quick enough. More options, IMO, Havvy and Wilson.. although they might be better for the role I described for Loram above
stevehone
i still think it needs to be a management TEAM ... one for technical, one as a man motivator, and possibly someone else to sort all the admin side of the team, making sure they all have their passports etc
RPNY
I think Middlo needs to go. He seems to be mates with the riders rather than their boss. There's been a few different things over the years that has led me to believe he's no longer the man for the job.

shazzybird
Nope that is already been discussed on the other thread <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Suzie says no so no it is Mark Loram is an interesting one, IMO I think he'd be better as more of a.. like a mentor sort of thing (I dunno if that's the correct word to use but you'll get the point) to generally get behind the lads, encourage them, give advice on the track and the bike and things like that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is that not really what a manager is supposed to do? I think Middlo needs to go. He seems to be mates with the riders rather than their boss. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmmmmm I go out drinking with my boss she's been my mate longer than she's been my boss but that doesn't mean when I'm at work I don't respect her as a boss, so I don't really know what your point is there Steve had a suggestion about a Management TEAM reckon that could work one mentor, one manager, one admin, one technical but then might end up with too many chiefs not enough indians sort of thing but think it would certainly take the pressure off of the riders but if we lost there would be a choice of people to blame then wouldn't there
