shazzybird
England last won the world cup in 1989, and possibly only won that because of horrible misfortune, and last won it prior to that in 1980 ... just how many years are you going to be saying 'our time will come'? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I blame Middlo Why not everyone else is
Sandie
I blame Middlo Why not everyone else is <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I knew you would come around eventually and before you delete your post I had to use it. shazzybird
For not winning the World Cup since 1989 as Steve Hone pointed out our last win Oh and ..... maybe not
stevehone
well he's had 7 years which is longer than anyone else that won nothing. i don't blame him, but it needs a fresh input from somewhere, and soon.
orion
Walasek really came over his injury quick, as he was riding quite wll tonight in Poland. He is just a big cheat, and I'm biased as hell. Filled up with sour grapes. And yes, I know it so don't bother to tell me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well with hans andersen in your side you should know all cheats what go's around comes round ( bar lindback of course )

Filled up with sour grapes. And yes, I know it so don't bother to tell me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, but who cares? I don't know who made up this stupid rule about the reserve rider but I'm more than sure if the Danish team had any weakest link they would get this regulation round the same way. With a sincere approval from the most pathetic man of recent days - Ole O. And hey, didn't Australia and GB use their reserve riders as well ? Anyway, thanks to Danes for being a tough rival and providing us lots of excitement in the final but such comments showing your frustration only make me more satisfied and proud of this victory. Brits had their night of glory in Cardiff, we had ours in Leszno, surely Danes will have theirs in a close future too.
youngy105
I don't know if Simon Stead rides in Poland, but a Belle Vue fan will probably know. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Steady rides for Start Gniezno in the Polish First Division which is their equivalent of our Premier League. Steady rode for Torun in the Polish Extraleague in 2005 and 2006 but didn't do that many meetings for them so I'm unawares if he's ever ridden at Leszno. No point laying the blame at one persons feet....they were all rubbish.....management included. Edited July 22, 2007 by youngy105

stevehone
ok if that's what you are now saying I'm sure you'r right <{POST_SNAPBACK}> what i'm now saying?? erm ... to refresh .... and i think it needs a fresh approach, every year it's the same thing 'who will Middlo pick this year' etc, and to be honest, with GB the team picks itself, there's no-one else able to come in and do a job. because of this i think it's time for a change, it's all gone stale, year after year everyone creams if GB make the final, and if they get close to winning something they get treated as though they have won something ... that's the wrong way to be, 2nd is a loser, so is 3rd etc. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> the team picks itself, as there is no quality around yet to force their way in, and maybe that's part of the reason why things have gone stale, same old team, same old manager, same old people creaming their underwear when Middlo's name is mentioned ... what Team GB needs is competition for places, and until that happens they will win jack schit. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Middlo (and i don't know the bloke so how can i dislike him Shazzybird) has had something like 7 years doing the job, maybe he came in with a 3 year plan or a 5 year plan or something, maybe even a 12 year plan, i don't know, but i'm sorry, i think we need changes. we need fresh ideas as things seem to have gone very stale, and unfortunately last night proved it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> do they ring any bells? thought not

masked_rooster
Team gb were disgusting, there were no excuses and the rollox sprouted from middleditch's gob about our bikes being inferior was a joke, those boys race abroad week in week out against the same guys and they dont have any trouble then when it comes to putting brass in pocket. Every other team was seen to be working together and when they showed our great skipper he was just slumped in his seat with no emotion and balls all to say to his team mates. shocking, disgusting ,tripe, embarrasing all brits traveling should be re-embusrt by middlo and the team

Crump99
There's a difference between Richardson riding well and "on fire" He skillfully out foxed Lukas, was allowed too much room a couple of times by PUK and was waved past by the one paced Bjerre. He finished 3rd and last in the tough heats of 13 & 15 which were SWC Final quality. His record at the highest level suggest that he'll be found wanting. I'll he happy if he proves me wrong. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your right world under 21 champ, elrc winner world cup semi final max, world final top scorer for the gb 3rd in the british gp second in another gp Other than that he been found wanting at the highest level lucky we have no more brits with that kind of record <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1: Lee Richardson:....0-1-0-1-2.....= 4 (we had brits with a similar record on Saturday) You win with the history lesson but I won on the day. The first race set the tone for GB as Rico sat there in a good position on turn one as the other three went by. Having said that, Harris and Nicholls were pants and that's where our main points should have come from.
Engine man
Hi. Well I'm new to this forum, but been watching speeday a long time, used to ride grasstrack, and know a bit about engines. I've also had the chance to talk to current riders and their advisors about engines and know what they do (and don't do) to set up. The team performance on Saturday was down to them not knowing how to set up for the conditions. Middlo was probably right that they didn't have the power - most of them wouldn't realise until they're on a real horsepower track and against top opposition - like in the WC final. Even in a Polish league match, they may only have one or two rides against 3 other top riders - its easy to ignore if it goes badly. This was a wake up call for those guys. I'm not sure who was in the pits for any of the teams, but there is only so much can be done if the basic power is missing.
